From Impact Day initiatives to Thanksgiving baskets, toy drives, and our laundry pod drive, we are proud to show up and serve in ways that uplift families and strengthen our communities. We’ve shared joy through caroling, honored our elders through visits to the senior center, supported sustainability through textile recycling, and cared for our city through trash pick-up and community cleanups—because service is not just what we do, it’s who we are.

The NDSA Delta GEMS & Academy youth program’s January session centered on physical and mental wellness, and it was an impactful day of learning, movement, and connection.

The participants enjoyed an engaging nutrition session focused on healthy eating, balanced diets, and how to read food labels, using visuals to better understand how food choices affect the body. They also took part in a powerful discussion with a licensed professional counselor, Teresa Lyons of Lyons Counsulting on body image, self-love, and bullying.

Physical activity was led by Jovina Clark, CEO or Planted Strong, who led an energizing TheraBand workout while sharing insight on strength, discipline, and healthy living. Participants then put their learning into practice by “eating the rainbow” at a beautifully curated salad and yogurt bar filled with nourishing options.

The day ended with fun line dancing, and each student received a gift bag with a wellness journal to track their physical and mental health progress and TheraBands to continue their workouts at home.
