Today we celebrated Mardi Gras, also known as “Fat Tuesday,” with festive fun, and music with The Del's!
🎭Mardi Gras is a tradition that began hundreds of years ago in Europe and was later brought to the United States, most famously celebrated in New Orleans. The name “Mardi Gras” is French for “Fat Tuesday,” referring to the last day of celebration before the Christian season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. Historically, it was a time to enjoy rich foods, music, and festivities before the more reflective season leading up to Easter.🎭
