The residents at Regina Health Center recently went to Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens in Akron, for their "Deck the Halls" annual event. The grounds and the house were absolutely stunning and our Residents had a great time. The Tudor Revival Estate took 3 years to complete, beginning in 1912 and was built for F.A. Seiberling, co-founder of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Definitely a road trip worth taking.

For many years, our friends at Holy Family Home Health Care & Hospice in Parma, have been dropping off dozens of donuts once a month supporting a morning social activity. Nicole Milligan is the kind Transitional Care Nurse who takes her time each month to arrange a drop off date and picks them up for us. Well…December was made even more special with Sr. Angela Salazar coming as a special guest Harpist. Sr. Angela played us beautiful music while we enjoyed delicious donuts!
Thank you Nicole and Sr. Angela.

FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT - LOVE

The Fourth Sunday of Advent, which falls on December 21, 2025, marks the final Sunday before Christmas, focusing on the themes of love, the coming of the Messiah (Emmanuel - God with us), and the fulfillment of prophecy, with readings often centered on Mary and Joseph's journey and God's promises for salvation, culminating in the anticipation of Jesus' birth. It's a time for quiet reflection, preparation, and recognizing God's saving power through ordinary people like Mary and Joseph.

Lord, I offer You my past and all the ways that I have failed to trust in You. I give You my weakness, my pride and my frustration. I surrender all sin to You and give myself to You completely so that You may do with me as You will. May Your grace be at work in me and may I, like Zechariah, sing forever the glory of Your holy name. Jesus, I trust in You.

Regina Health Center hosted its annual employee Christmas Luncheon to honor their staff. In keeping with their partnership established in late 2024, Metz Culinary Management provided the festive meal. The 2025 menu included holiday staples such as delicious tender chicken parmesan, homemade vegetable lasagna, green beans, and a full salad bar. A personal touch was added by longtime staff members Jerry and Ryan Modin, who prepared homemade baked goods for the celebration. As a ministry of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine the luncheon was also attended and supported by the CSA’s. The gathering was memorable and appreciated by all. Wishing all of our friends and loved ones a Merry Christmas season.

Their mission is to perform and record meaningful spiritual and uplifting music to bring comfort, hope and peace to their listeners often those in their senior years or in hospice care. The Third Sunday of Advent is called Gaudete (Rejoice). On Gaudete Sunday we celebrate that our hopeful anticipation for the coming of Christ at Christmas is almost over. Rose is the liturgical color used to signify joy, therefore we light the rose Advent candle on the third Sunday of Advent and the priests wear rose vestments. Gaudete Sunday corresponds to Laetare Sunday during the season of Lent. The third candle on the Advent wreath – a pink or rose one – is often called the Shepherd's Candle and symbolizes Joy. It helps us remember to be joyful at the coming birth of Jesus, on our journey, as well as with one another!
