❄️Happy Holidays!

I’m here to update you on a recent blogpost on my website (you can find the link for that in my bio)!

🎄 I’m sharing with you a few insights and tools you can utilize during this time, building awareness and mindfulness around holiday triggers…

🌟Expectations
🌟Family Dynamics
🌟Relationship Wounds
🌟Traumas
🌟Boundaries

Whatever you’re needing support in, I hope these insights can help you hold space for these places within you during this time — my post is meant to highlight tools for both self-regulation and co-regulation!

✨"This holiday season can evoke or stir up old wounds or patterns that have either gone unnoticed, or feel familiar because of our own past attachment experiences."

I share with you some quick reminders, insight, and offerings to create a safe space to hold these wounds or patterns in your relationship. Whether it's within the context of self, or in the connection with your partner, I hope this will serve you in some way. . .

Especially if this season is one that has triggered expectations of repair, connection, or unraveled painful or traumatic memories.

I'M ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS IN 2026.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

This holiday season can evoke or stir up old wounds or patterns that have either gone unnoticed, or feel familiar because of our own past attachment experiences.

12/02/2025

🎄It’s talked about during this time of the year — the change in routine, the added stressors, and the pressures to GIVE or SHOW UP.

Holidays also touch on our own raw spots and attachment wounds … in a way that brings our awareness to unresolved trauma, or even contributes to relational stress.

If you’re someone who notices yourself experiencing. . .
🌟Dissociation
🌟Anxiety
🌟Psychosomatic Issues: headaches, areas of tension
🌟Depression: isolation, overwhelming sadness

During the holiday season, our nervous system might experience distress because of sensory or attachment cues around us. Changes in routine, and expectations from those around us can trigger implicit memories that draw us back into these old cycles. Therefore, finding small ways to connect with those who can hold you in this space, and setting aside time to soften and slow down can allow you space to self- or co-regulate in moments like this.

👋 Good Morning Tri-Cities and Washington State!

I hope that you're enjoying the end to your week! I'm taking a moment to reintroduce myself to those that might be seeking a therapist or yoga teacher for support in their healing journey!

My name is Tommy Lofgren, and although I grew up and spent most of my life in the Carolinas, I have been in the Tri-Cities now for just over 9 years (🫢which is hard to fathom how quickly time has passed). I've been honored to establish and maintain my own private practice for the last 4 years. In this practive, I've been dedicated to helping clients develop a deeper attunement to self, and in turn, meaningful connection in their own relationship(s). Within this practice, Cultivate Connection has utilized a somatic, emotionally focused, and experiential lens to help those trying to manage the weight of past traumas, from family of origin or romantic attachments, as well as navigating personal hurdles that bring up repeated cycles throughout one's life.

Growing up in a place of insecurity, without the safety of a safe haven or secure base, can lead to difficulties trusting or experiencing safe vulnerability in relationships. My goal is to help YOU get there. . . or for my couples out there, get there TOGETHER.

👋Good Afternoon Washington State!

🧣I’m so grateful to be a part of a tremendous network of therapists who work with couples to navigate cycles and strength attachment!

🫂 When I’m working with individuals and couples, I’m working from a mindset of reintegrating safety and softening into the self-the body-the relationship. This model has helped me step into my office with intention and purpose . . . to help model and shape secure attachment for those needing a safe attunement figure in their healing journey.

✨The Holidays are Approaching!

🕯️It's ALWAYS the right time to address the resources (both internal and external) that bring you home to self. Who/What are the people, places, or experiences that draw you into a place of attunement to self and others.?

I'm excited for another opportunity to present to the beautiful folks at Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties tomorrow morning! We'll be approaching the topic of attachment — addressing our own internal working model, and leaning into the experience of youth & trauma.

💪🏻 Achievement Feels Incredible…

👉What happens when your self-worth is defined by how productive you are?

In the world of attachment, a consistent pattern of emotional neglect can drive home the message that, “love has conditions.” For some, this means that they feel solely validated or seen when they’ve accomplished something.

Rather than fostering a pattern of security and safety that allows our nervous system to recognize comfort in softness and ease, we learn to continually push our mind and body.

✨And over time, here’s what happens👇🏽

🧠Overwhelming guilt or worry tied to achieving
🧠Struggle to find your own identity
🧠Consistent fear of failure
🧠Finding resolution that feels satisfying
🧠Struggle internalizing praise
🧠Burnout

The work starts with developing a self-compassionate understanding of the message this part of you has carried. We’re asking the nervous system to create space to sit with the worry, fear, or anxiety in a way that allows you to normalize safety in slowing down, down-regulating, and addressing needs that were unmet in these moments within your life.

👉Especially Boundaries.

✨ONE MESSAGE. AND ONE MESSAGE ONLY:

🗣️"You deserve to be here. Your emotions and your needs matter."

👉Empathy is the cornerstone to healthy communication. When we can choose to listen and understand another's experience from a place of willingness, we can develop a lens from which to see their lives.

👋🏽Hello Everyone!

When life is busy, it's a beautiful opportunity to check-in with yourself and ask, "Where is there space to slow down❔"

When we slow down, we give ourselves space to sync with the nervous system and bring awareness to what the body is still holding onto. In western culture, so much emphasis is placed on this "go, go, go" mindset, placing so much focus on "building success" through monetary growth and accomplishment.

🫂I challenge you this week to focus on where you can implement more time to focus on the body, listen to the breath, and acknowledge where there could be space for more emotional comfort, whether this is with self or within your own relationship(s).

GOOD LUCK!🍀

Relationships remind us that, wherever we find deep love and longing. . . we can also find fear and uncertainty. Building secure attachment is the delicate dance of approaching one's experience with willingness and empathy. A personal therapist of mine reminded me once to "be mindful of the nuance"....
