Happy National Philanthropy Day!

It's fitting the fundraising gala for the Kadlec Tri-Cities Cancer Center is held tonight - the event is the biggest means of support for programs, services and equipment related to not-for-profit cancer care in our community. This year, attendees are asked to invest in a new StealthStation S8 - a surgical navigation system used during operations on aggressive brain tumors. This equipment keeps patients close to home for specialized care.

Congratulations to Nancy Oten who is celebrating 20 years of service today. 🎉

Nancy, a registered nurse at the Kadlec Tri-Cities Cancer Center, shared that Kadlec has been a significant part of her life and professional journey, from being born at Kadlec to building a 38-year career as an oncology nurse in our community. One of her most memorable moments was meeting her husband during a shift on Christmas day. When not at work, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her 12 grandchildren.

Generous gifts from the Yakama Nation Legends Casino Hotel have totaled more than $33,000 in the last decade, supporting a wide range of items for the local community. Grants to the Kadlec Foundation and Tri-Cities Cancer Center Foundation have supported the Patient Needs fund, which dispenses hotel vouchers or gas cards for those with barriers to care, along with the NIC fund, purchasing infant car seats to ensure every newborn leaves the hospital safely.

Kadlec offers a 6-hour course to prepare your teen to become a good babysitter. This class will cover child growth and development, skills needed to care for children, basic first aid and CPR. It is designed for ages 11-17.
