This was also my second workout of the day. I doubled up again I order to finish the first week of my new program. Proud to have done 4 workouts in 2 days! It really puts it in perspective when I don't want to, or use to excuse if no time.

We have been trying to catch Pearl taking her first unsteady steps on video. Any parent will tell you how difficult this is--the second that video starts recording, she plops down.
Well I DID manage to catch her yesterday during my workout!! She walked even further later on in the evening.
I am so proud of her. And not only her, but myself. For modeling the fitness behaviors for her at a young age, I know that she will learn to love her body and all it is capable of doing. She will see exercise as a joy and not a chore.
These are the real reasons that I do what I do. I am building my legacy one struggled push-up at a time.

Weight day is becoming my favorite day. I love getting stronger and feeling my muscles grow.
I think it's time to up my weights after this week! Going up to 10 pounders baby!

Okay. I almost almost did not do this workout today. I wanted to sit on the couch and snack. My kitchen is in disarray this week, so I have an excuse not to cook (NOT a good thing for a binge-eater).
The only thing that got me to do it was one of my challengers. She only got through half and sounded like her day was worse than mine, so I knew I had to suck it up and get it done.
Within the first five minutes, the endorphins kicked in and I felt ten times better than when I started.
I mainly focus on the physical fitness part of this journey, but I am quickly learning that my mental fitness is slightly more important. This journey is a mental one, and I had no idea that it was going to change me in this way when I started.
Even on the hard days, I grow.

Yesterday's workout was intense! It's hot, smoky, and muggy here, and sweating in this weather is not fun.
Pearl helped me with my bridges and ab work! It definitely works those muscles to make sure I don't kick her.
Today is my rest/active stretching day which is great because I have so much to do in preparation for the week. I think all the lifting and carrying I am doing counts as a workout, right?

I really really did not want to do this today. I have been super anxious all day about allllll the things I have to get done this weekend. We are going on an extra long camping trip βΊοΈ AND having lots of work π¨ π¨ done our house which requires a lot of prep work that has to be done this weekend. I got so overwhelmed with all the things, that I took a nap instead of working out. π΄
When I woke up, I made my husband tell me one thing I could accomplish, and I did that. Afterward I felt a bit better, and decided to get my workout in. I was feeling the beginnings of a binge session, so the workout kept me busy and kept me from stuffing my feelings down with food. π
So, now I feel great! Getting some lists made so that I can be a task master! β
Remember, when you don't want to workout is when you NEED IT the most. Commit to 10 minutes and chances are you will finish the whole thing!

I missed my early morning session today. My schedule was different due to a training class I had today, so even though I technically got to "sleep in" I still planned to get up at 4:00.
But, my husband ended up working in the wee hours of the morning, so he wasn't able to sleep watch the baby while I worked out.
Instead of stressing about it and being anxious and angry about the disruption (I am SUPER routine-driven and disruptions are difficult for me--I'm working on it!), I enjoyed sleeping in until 6:00 and waking up leisurely instead of with an alarm clock.
Crushed the workout this evening and felt great!! My bear crawl series are getting better! Rawr!

Morning cardio session went down early AF and I did not hop out of bed as perky as I did yesterday. In fact I almost fell back asleep but I made myself get up.
There is something magical and sacred about the early morning. When I watch these videos and think back to the morning, I really feel that there is some serious spiritual,mental, and of course, physical work going on while the rest of the world sleeps.
But, as you can see in this video, even crazy cardio didn't wake me up. I yawned through the whole thing, but I still pushed and noticed improvements since Monday.

Know how I know I was excited for this workout? I popped outta bed at 4:04 a.m. And rushed downstairs before putting my contacts in. Exercising in glasses is NOT fun, but I didn't dare go back upstairs and risk waking the little girl.
Why was so excited, you ask? New strength routine today!! πͺπ»π
It's been a long day, and I am SO SO grateful that my past self didn't hit snooze but rather got the grind done this morning! Now I don't have to worry about doing it when I am drained from the day.

I am so glad I am not dropping her off at the gym daycare! If that were the case, I would more often than not just say f*~k it and not go!

Okay, I know I have been MIA recently, but I am settling back into my routine after being in travel status for basically a week.
It is HARD to stick to eating well and exercising on the road. I didn't stick to my meal plan and I missed two days of workouts (not bad considering).
To play catch up I doubled up yesterday and will do the same today. It's all about progress, not perfection. I am learning to be accepting and gentle with myself when I "fail" and remember that it only matters that I get back up when I fall.

I could really get used to having a personal gym!
It was so nice to workout early this morning when the rest of the world was still asleep! I got up at 5:30 which, sadly, is sleeping in for me!
I use 8 lb. weights at home, but the hotel only had 5 lb. or 10 lb. so I pushed myself with the 10 pounders. I'm so glad I did! It felt great and I know that means I am getting stronger!
Still need to work on my form a bit: lots of swaying and butt a bit too high in the planks, but overall a great workout!

Working out at a hotel is π― % outside of my comfort zone. And not too mention dragging my laptop and tripod into the fitness center!!
But it's done and it was even a fraction as scary as I built it up to be in my mind.
That's usually how fears are though, way worse in our head than in reality.

I am seeing so much progress with this workout and I love it! Plus, having one of the squad members named Amanda really helps, when the trainer is yelling "come on, Amanda! You can do this!"
These moves look easy enough, but try each one for one minute and you will get sweaty and out of breath, I promise!
You don't have to kill yourself at the gym for hours to get results. Consistent, 25 -30 minutes a day is truly all it takes!

Least favorite moves!! Anything that requires me to start in a plank position automatically qualifies it to be in this category.
Not everything is the highlight reel. Not every move is executed perfectly. Sometimes I take a break and lay down on the floor.
Do what you gotta do, just get it done!
