Yesterday was a big day! I met Dr. Shelley Murphy, Bernice Bennett & Nicka Smith! It was the highlight of my day. Plus classes with Taneya Koonce and Renate Yarborough Sanders were resourceful and enlightening. I’m having such a wonderful experience

I AM SUCH A HUGE FAN! I was so happy to meet Brian Sheffey yesterday at IAAM. If you know anything about the Facebook show Genealogy Adventures, this is the host along with his cousin Donya who are genealogy & history rock stars! Now I just need to meet Donya! Happy to attend the Afro-American Historical & Genealogical Society conference this week and learn more!!

The Family History Event at the State Archives was phenomenal! I met in-person two of my FAVORITE genealogists, Soror Renate Yarborough-Sanders and Frater Desi Campbell, Zeta Genealogy group Soror Char Charfield and an amazing speakers Joyce Sharrock-Cole whose workshop “My Surname is not my Bloodline” was engaging, funny and informative! Plus I connected with people from the local AAHGS chapter and David from Friends of the Archives. The bonus was having lunch with my cousin Elaine. It was the best day ever!
