💙✨ 5 Years of Bilinguatherapy — Celebrated in the Dominican Republic ✨💙

Last month, I had the honor of taking my team to the Dominican Republic to celebrate 5 years of Bilinguatherapy. Instead of just a party, we chose to give back.

For 5 days, we volunteered our speech and occupational therapy services to children and families in nees. We evaluated kids, shared resources, and equipped parents with strategies they could use at home. The smiles on those children’s faces and the gratitude from their families reminded us exactly why we do what we do. 🙏🏽

This experience also changed us. My clinicians got to:
🌍 See the realities many of our patients and families come from.
🗣️ Immerse themselves in the culture and language.
💡 Gain new perspective and appreciation for our mission.

It was more than a trip—it was a transformation. And it filled me with pride knowing that Bilinguatherapy is not just about therapy sessions, but about breaking barriers and creating opportunities across borders.

Here’s to 5 years of impact, and to the many more to come. 💫



💙✨ 5 Años de Bilinguatherapy — Celebrados en la República Dominicana ✨💙

El mes pasado tuve el honor de llevar a mi equipo a la República Dominicana para celebrar 5 años de Bilinguatherapy. En lugar de hacer solo una fiesta, decidimos dar algo de regreso.

Durante 5 días, ofrecimos nuestros servicios de terapia del habla y terapia ocupacional de manera voluntaria a niños y familias. Evaluamos a los niños, compartimos recursos y les dimos a los padres estrategias que pueden usar en casa. Las sonrisas en las caritas de esos niños y la gratitud de sus familias nos recordaron exactamente por qué hacemos lo que hacemos. 🙏🏽

Esta experiencia también nos transformó. Mis terapeutas pudieron:
🌍 Ver las realidades de donde vienen muchos de nuestros pacientes y familias.
🗣️ Sumergirse en la cultura y el idioma.
💡 Ganar una nueva perspectiva y una apreciación más profunda de nuestra misión.

Fue más que un viaje: fue una transformación. Y me llena de orgullo saber que Bilinguatherapy no se trata solo de sesiones de terapia, sino de romper barreras y crear oportunidades a través de las fronteras.

Brindemos por 5 años de impacto, y por muchos más por venir. 💫

We are so excited to officially welcome Alicia Alvarez, M.S., CF-SLP, to the Bilinguatherapy family! 💜

Alicia earned both her Bachelor of Science (2023) and Master of Science (2025) in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Longwood University. She first joined us as a graduate student during her external placement in Fall 2024 — and from day one, we knew she was something special.

Alicia is compassionate, knowledgeable, and a natural fit for our team. We’re thrilled to have her continue her journey with us as a Clinical Fellow, and we can't wait for our families to experience the care and dedication she brings to every session.
