Botox is one of the most well-known aesthetic treatments, but understanding how it actually works makes all the difference.

Botox is a purified protein that temporarily relaxes specific facial muscles. When those muscles relax, the skin above them smooths out. That’s how dynamic lines, the ones caused by repeated movement, become softer over time.

Here’s what you should know:

• It treats movement-based wrinkles. Think forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet.
