We encourage everyone in affected areas to remain vigilant and be prepared for the effects of this storm including possible power outages and road closures.

We want to make sure our Aveanna community is prepared. Patients and their families should follow these tips based on guidance from the Oley Foundation:

• If there is a true medical emergency please call 911.

• Make sure you have back up power or batteries ready for any medical devices or pumps you depend on. Keep a battery powered radio and your cell phone charged so you can stay informed.

• Plug in any medical equipment or devices that need to be charged (e.g., ventilators, feeding pumps, mobile phones, etc.)

• Listen to appropriate warnings from governmental officials advising of precautions and evacuations.

• Check with home care suppliers and medical providers NOW to ensure that you have enough medications and nutritional supplies (formula, HPN, etc.) to last at least 48–72 hours, in case of supply chain delays.

• Write down important telephone numbers in case you cannot access the contacts on your mobile phone. This includes, but is not limited to, your home care company branch, regional and national offices.

Happy Patient Recognition Week to Aveanna patient Juliette!

Juliette has been working with our Aveanna therapy team for a few years now, where she has made huge progress in her communication. When she first started therapy, she had limited vocabulary and was not able to express herself the way she wanted. Now, she is forming sentences and phrases like a pro!

Juliette also expresses herself in other unique ways including coloring, singing songs from the "K-Pop Demon Hunters" soundtrack, and playing dress up. Her spunky energy and huge imagination are just a few of the reasons why she is such a fun part of our Aveanna therapy family.
