I have been spending time in the desert of Arizona this week, surrounded by sandstone and rock, worn down over millions of years by wind & water, carving them into beautiful structures that outline the landscape of this state
A guide from the Navajo Nation told me how the water that runs down the sandstone carries rocks, sand & debri acting like sandpaper reshaping the form and settling at the floors of the canyons, reminding me that the experiences & people that have shaped me will always be a part of me, and for this I am so grateful
These natural artforms have me thinking about the process of change within my own life. The mistakes I have made, pain I have caused & endured, the lessons I have learned that continue to shape me like water & wind into new versions of self
I am currently working to let the process of change wash over me, to allow my being to be worn down, stripped raw, to forgive myself for my shortcomings and to continue to work towards creating new language and understanding around this living experience
I will be taking some time away from this account. In the meantime I will be putting more energy into and would greatly appreciate your support by following this accountđź’“Syd
