❤️ Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is the #1 cause of heart-related deaths in the U.S.—and one of the most preventable.

Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) happens when plaque builds up in the arteries that carry blood to your heart.
Over time, that buildup limits oxygen and increases your risk for heart attack or heart failure..

Know the risk factors:
➡️ High blood pressure
➡️ High cholesterol
➡️ Smoking
➡️ Diabetes
➡️ Sedentary lifestyle
➡️ Family history of heart disease

Watch for warning signs:
💢 Chest pain or pressure
🫁 Shortness of breath
🩶 Or no symptoms at all until a heart attack occurs

Start protecting your heart today — eat well, move more, and get regular checkups. Your heart will thank you. 💪❤️

❤️ Heart Disease Symptoms in Women
Did you know women often experience different warning signs than men? While men may feel chest pressure, women are more likely to notice vague symptoms such as:

⚠️ Jaw or back pain
⚠️ Nausea or vomiting
⚠️ Sweating
⚠️ Dizziness
⚠️ Marked fatigue

Women are also more affected by stress and depression — making heart disease harder to diagnose.

👉 Don’t ignore the signs. Know your risk, listen to your body, and talk to your doctor.

🫀We’re honored to have made a difference. Thank you for the kind testimonial!

Full testimonial: "Everyone in the office were as nice and polite as they could be and made me feel comfortable. When I called the office for advice Dr. Posenau actually called me back himself promptly and reassured me putting my mind at ease. I feel as if I am in good hands with his care." - Crissy W.

💙 Heart Health & Women
Did you know women face unique risk factors for heart disease?

➡️ Women are more prone to metabolic syndrome, which raises the risk of coronary artery disease (CAD).
➡️ Hormonal changes during pregnancy, menopause, and post-menopause can also impact heart health.
➡️ A loss of estrogen after menopause may affect the small blood vessels, further increasing risk.

✨ Knowledge is power — understanding these differences helps women take proactive steps for their heart health at every stage of life.

One of the newest members of our team, Dr. Binaya Basyal, is making headlines! Dr. Basyal is already proving to be an incredible asset, achieving a major milestone by performing the region’s first Abbott AVEIR™ leadless pacemaker implant at St. Mary’s Hospital.

This tiny device (about the size of a AAA battery) means safer, less invasive treatment for patients with heart rhythm challenges.

Dr. Basyal joins our other EP leaders, Dr. Vivak Master and Dr. Alex Baher, who helped bring this groundbreaking technology to Central Virginia.

We’re thrilled to have Dr. Basyal on our team!
