Someone who has the love and compassion for helping individuals with disabilities. Make the space they live in a welcoming, safe, and comfortable environment, while also encouraging and assisting them to live their most independent life possible. HHA/CNA experience preferred.

For 17 years, Abilities Richmond has been more than a program — it has been a place where individuals are seen, valued, and given the opportunity to grow, work, and belong.

As we move forward with an important grant opportunity to expand Creative Abilities Studio, we are asking for your help.

If Abilities Richmond has made a difference in your life or the life of someone you love, we would be incredibly grateful if you would be willing to share a short statement or letter about that impact.

It doesn’t have to be long — just a few sentences about what Abilities has meant to you, your family, or your individual.

Abilities Indiana, Inc (Abilities Richmond Inc) was founded in 2009 by Tami Johnson, whose oldest son, Matthew, has Down Syndrome. She saw a need for a program for him after he graduated high school, and wanted to create Abilities to meet the needs for him and others in the community. Today, Abilities provides day services, residential support, and more to adults with developmental and physical disabilities.

Yesterday we took a trip to see the Descendants play at Richmond Civic Theatre, to watch our very own Addy perform in the musical!
