Big shout-out to ✨ Animalance RVA ✨- A pet transportation service owned and operated by Becky Lacy! Yesterday, Becky responded to our call to transfer an oxygen-dependent patient to an emergency hospital for continued care. She seamlessly worked with our team and supported the pet owner with the utmost compassion every step of the way. During Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week, we're filled with gratitude for our amazing team🩺

If you’ve ever visited Cary Street, you already know our technicians are the backbone of our hospital. They monitor anesthesia, assist in surgery, take X-rays, give injections, and still somehow find time to give their patients extra snuggles.

You’d be hard-pressed to find them standing still long enough for a group photo, so instead, here’s a glimpse of them in action, doing what they do best - treating your pets and making sure they get the quality care they deserve.

To our incredible technician team, we thank you for the difference you make in the lives of our community's pets. We couldn’t do it without you!

Cary Street is proud to share that we’ve passed our Fear Free Practice Recertification! 🌟

The recertification process requires us to demonstrate that we make every patient visit as stress-free and positive as possible. While many veterinary professionals have completed Fear Free training, Fear Free Certified Practices are few and far between, with only nine listed in the entire state of Virginia!

Cary Street was proud to be the first practice in Virginia to earn a Fear Free certification, and we remain deeply committed to our mission of providing thoughtful, compassionate care to every pet we see.

🐾A Fond Farewell to Dr. Ellen Russell🐾

It is with both gratitude and sadness that we share our beloved Dr. Ellen Russell will be leaving our hospital October 15th as she and her family prepare for an exciting move abroad.

Dr. Russell has been an integral part of our team since 2020, sharing her expertise and compassion with every patient she’s seen. She has a special talent for preserving the human–animal bond and has made a lasting impact on both the pets and people of our community.

We will miss Dr. Russell dearly, but we are so thankful for the dedication and kindness she has shared with us all. Please join us in wishing her the very best in this next adventure!
