Ellen L. Jackson, 66 of Farmingdale, ME. It is with profound heartbreak that we announce the passing of Ellen Louise Jackson, who left this world far too soon on December 6, 2025, after bravely facing an aggressive cancer. Though her time here was shorter than any of us could have ever imagined, she filled every corner and every minute, with color, laughter, and joy. Wherever she went, fun seemed to follow. She had a gift for turning even the most ordinary moments into memories: a run to the grocery store became an adventure, a simple walk turned into a lesson in botany, and any gathering—big or small—became brighter the moment she walked in.

A devoted lover of flowers, gardening, and the quiet beauty of digging in the dirt, Ellen could coax life from even the smallest seed. Her garden was nothing short of a small miracle—an unexpected oasis carved along a busy road where engines hummed and tires hissed. Drivers who passed by rarely intended to slow down, but they always did.

Ellen was an active member and past president of the Kennebec Valley Garden Club where her enthusiasm, creativity, and kindness made her a beloved presence at every meeting. She recently retired after a remarkable 35-year career with the State of Maine, serving as a Programs Analyst.

Ellen is survived by her long-time devoted partner Bruce Kane, her mother, Barbara Batchelder, sisters Carol Taylor and Lynn Haste, brother David Jackson, and nieces, Kelly, Annie, and Barbie, who will carry her memory in their hearts always.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, December 12th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Kincer Funeral Home,130 Pleasant Street, Richmond, ME. 04357, where friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the incredible woman she was. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating directly to the American Cancer Society or planting something in your garden in her memory, so her love of growing things may continue to bloom in the world.

Morris W. Quintal, 62, passed away comfortably at Andwell Hospice House on November 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving sister Amy and his niece and nephew, Elisha and Mathew, who were like his own.

Morris was born on May 21, 1963, in Damariscotta. He is survived by his loving parents, Morris and Judy Quintal of Gardiner; his brothers Robert (Pat) and Steve (Sheryl); his sisters Amy (John) and Sue (Tom); and his nieces and nephews Bobbi Lin, Elisha, Mathew, Abby, Shawnna, and Ryan. He was predeceased by his beloved cat, Owen.

Morris devoted his life to working on the ocean as a marine worm digger. He loved being out on the water and working for himself. In the winters, he worked for SKCD—another job he truly enjoyed. In his younger years, Morris also enjoyed helping his father Morris with their smelt camps and growing trees.

A devoted Boston sports fan, Morris loved watching the Patriots and celebrating Super Bowl parties with his brothers and sisters. He enjoyed watching the Red Sox and followed horse racing closely. Morris also loved playing softball with his brothers, his sister Sue, and his niece Bobbi Lin. He had a playful spirit and loved to give his big sister Amy a hard time, always joking that her scream could be heard in another state.

Morris also loved walking the rail trail, and his niece Shawnna will miss seeing him there. In his younger years, he could often be found at the dances, having fun. It was at one of those dances that he introduced Amy and John—something he always took pride in. His niece Abby will miss his warm, upbeat nature, and his niece Elisha and her husband Jason will deeply miss the time they shared with him over the past few years. Morris adored their dog Grace, and he was Grace's best friend.

Morris was truly one of a kind—funny, smart, the life of the party, and simply the best human. He loved his family deeply. We—especially his mother, Judy—will miss him and love him forever.

The family would like to thank Dr. Brian Haney, Dr. Mark Wrona, and their team at the New England Cancer Center for their amazing care and support of Morris and our family over these past few weeks. We also extend our gratitude to his nurse Megan and the rest of his care team at Andwell Hospice, as well as nurse Dianne at the hospice house, for their compassion, support, and extraordinary care during Morris's final weeks.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Kincer Funeral Home in Richmond, Maine. A graveside burial will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Andwell Hospice House.

In Loving Memory of James A. Pearson

James A. Pearson, of Richmond, Maine, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on November 20, 2025, entering heaven to be reunited with his beloved wife, Kelly.

Jim lived a life of steadfast faith, service, and open‑hearted love. Since 1982, he served as the pastor of Shepherd of Faith Ministries, devoting himself fully to his calling and the people he shepherded. He was known as a spiritual father to dozens around the world, sharing encouragement, prayer, and guidance with grace and humility.

Together, Jim and Kelly opened their home as foster parents to many children over the years, offering safety, stability, and love when it was needed most. Their generosity extended far beyond their home, as Jim supported a variety of outreach and ministries in Maine, across the United States, and New Zealand.

Before his pastoral work became full‑time, Jim taught as a kindergarten and special education teacher. He was a natural educator, and those early years in the classroom foreshadowed the pastoral heart he carried throughout his life.

Jim was a devoted Father, Father‑in‑law, and "Bumpa," a title he wore with pride and joy. He is lovingly celebrated by:

Shannon (Pearson) McLaughlin and Bob McLaughlin, with grandchildren Bailey McLaughlin and Matthew Umland and his wife Clare Riley Umland;
Devon (Pearson) Koenig and Seth Koenig, with grandchildren Noah and Abbi Koenig;
Megan (Pearson) Miller and Mike Miller, with grandchildren Kolbee & Isis Austin, and Rowen & Oscar Miller;
Ryan Pearson and Mike Nadeau, with granddaughter Emma Nadeau;
Caitlin (Pearson) Kottke, and Jake Kottke, with grandchildren Capri, Esme, and Westley Kottke.
Jim and Kelly also embraced Don Jamison as an adopted son, alongside Don's wife Christina, children Kelly and Sarah, and stepchildren Nick and Tony extending his family ties with the same generosity that defined his life.

He is survived by his brothers Mike Pearson (wife Jackie) and Tim Pearson (wife Sonya and family), and he is fondly remembered by nieces and nephews of brothers who have preceded him to heaven.

Jim's legacy is the faith he cultivated, the family he and Kelly created, and the countless people—near and far—who found hope because he cared. His family and friends take comfort knowing he is at peace, reunited with Kelly, and that his example will continue to light their way.
