This week DBVI celebrated its first graduate through the CVS Career Skills Lab. This program it’s the only one of its kind nationwide offered through an agency that serves individuals who are blind. Its focus is producing credentialed individuals ready to meet the employment needs in customer service. DBVI was honored to have the Deputy Secretary of HHR with us to celebrate the occasion and encourage not only the graduate, but also other program participants.

Under sleep shades, they learned adaptive cooking techniques, explored low vision tools, and practiced sighted guide skills, all while gaining insight into accessibility and inclusive design.

Huge thanks to our incredible team and volunteers for making this hands-on experience unforgettable. This was just the warm-up for our upcoming Blind Design Program in March: where creativity meets accessibility!
