Weāre looking forward to this upcoming event and hope to see you there!
Weāll be sharing information about our monthly Parkinsonās peer and caregiver support group, along with helpful resources from our therapy partner, Healthcare Therapy Services, Inc.
Parkinsonās disease (PD) affects more than movement. It can also impact digestion, nutrition, and daily comfort in ways many people donāt realize.
Join us for a free viewing party for āThe Gut-Brain Connection PD Symposiumā from 8ā11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29 in Lingle Grand Hall, Reid Health, 1100 Reid Parkway in Richmond.
Doors open at 8 a.m. with the online program beginning promptly at 8:30 a.m. Complimentary refreshments will be provided.
People living with PD often experience gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms that can affect daily function, medication effectiveness, nutrition, swallowing safety, and overall quality of life. Emerging research also highlights the gut as a potential factor in brain-related diseases such as PD.
This online symposium offers an accessible, interdisciplinary overview of:
⢠The gutābrain connection
⢠The role of the microbiome
⢠Practical food for health strategies
⢠A moderated Q&A addressing common challenges
This event is sponsored by the Parkinson's Foundation, Reid Fitness, Rock Steady Boxing, Reid Health Neurology, and Rush University Medical Center.
The symposium is open to individuals living with Parkinson's, their family, friends, and the community.
Attendance is free, but registration is required to help us plan appropriately. To RSVP, contact Victoria Raney at Victoria.Raney@reidhealth.org.
Space is limited. RVSP by Friday, April 24 to attend.
