✨ Stress doesn't take a day off — but neither does your strength.
At Mending Fences VA, we believe that caring for others starts with caring for yourself. Whether you're a parent, educator, or caregiver, managing stress isn't a luxury — it's a necessity.
Try these tips to help you reset and recharge:
⭐️ Exercise regularly — even a short walk can shift your whole mood
⭐️ Practice time management — small steps make big days more manageable
⭐️ Perform deep breathing exercises — pause, breathe, and reset
⭐️ Speak to a therapist for professional guidance — asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness
You show up every day for the ones you love — you deserve that same energy too. 💛

As we continue celebrating Women’s History Month, we’re inspired by the powerful words of Michelle Obama:

“There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.”

At Mending Fences, we see this truth every day in the strength, resilience, and compassion of the women who support families, uplift their communities, and lead with purpose.

From mentors and mothers to teachers, advocates, and young leaders finding their voices — women continue to shape a brighter future for the next generation.

Let’s continue to celebrate, support, and empower one another.

Spring is a season of renewal and growth. 🌱

As the weather warms up, it’s a great time to pause and focus on your well-being. Simple practices like spending time outdoors, decluttering your space, practicing gratitude, and caring for your body can help reduce stress and bring a sense of balance.

Remember, progress isn’t about perfection—it’s about small, meaningful steps forward each day.

What’s one way you’re practicing self-care this spring? 💚

At Mending Fences, we believe in creating safe spaces where conversations about emotions, stress, anxiety, and the everyday challenges kids face are welcomed and supported. When we talk openly about mental health, we help reduce stigma and remind children and families that they are not alone.

Talking about mental health isn’t weakness—it’s strength.

If your child is experiencing:
• Anxiety or stress
• Sadness or low mood
• Behavior challenges
• Difficulty making friends
• Feeling overwhelmed

…there is no shame in seeking support. In fact, reaching out may be one of the most important gifts you can give your child.

We’re here. Your school counselors are here. And most importantly—your child doesn’t have to face these challenge

Did you know? Research shows that when students perceive strong emotional support from teachers, they tend to exhibit higher levels of academic engagement.

At Mending Fences, we believe social-emotional support isn’t a ‘nice to have’—it’s foundational. Our counselors work with students to:

✓ Build emotional awareness and resilience
✓ Develop healthy coping strategies
✓ Navigate peer relationships with confidence
✓ Create a sense of belonging

Mental health matters. Your child deserves support that helps them thrive both in and out of the classroom.
