We were delighted to recognize Dr. Abdul-Rahman for his outstanding service on our VAFP Board! Although he missed our annual summer meeting due to the joyful arrival of his second child, we were thrilled to present his plaque during our fall board meeting.

Dr. Abdul-Rahman has been an incredible asset to our board, advocating for membership engagement, mentoring the next generation of family physicians, and serving as a strong voice for our specialty. As the son of a Virginia family physician, an active member of the VCOM Alumni Association Board, and a recipient of mentorship and teaching awards from STFM, VCU, and UVA, he exemplifies leadership, dedication, and approachability in all he does. 👏💙

Meet Dr. Michelle M. Tran, MD, MS, FAAFP — proud member of the Virginia Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors! She is a graduate of the Virginia Commonwealth University–Fairfax Family Medicine Residency and has been practicing outpatient family medicine with Permanente Medicine since 2016. She exemplifies dedication to her patients and to advancing the mission of family medicine across Virginia.
