Across a lot of fields right now, people are talking about nervous system regulation. Breathwork. Meditation. Supplements. Cold plunges.
Those things can help.
But there’s another piece that often gets overlooked: 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆.
Polyvagal theory suggests that our nervous system is constantly scanning for cues of safety. One of the strongest signals isn’t something we do alone. It’s the presence of other people who feel safe and welcoming.
A smile when you walk in the door.
A quick conversation before class.
Laughing with someone after class.
Those moments may seem small, but the nervous system reads them as safety.
When Mare, Jess and Niki (aka MaJessNik) created SoulShine, they wanted a place where those moments could actually happen. Not a place where people rush in and rush out.
That’s also why we leave thirty minutes between classes. It gives people time to linger, talk, and get to know each other.
Movement matters. Breath matters. But community is what brings it all together.
And honestly, it’s one of the reasons SoulShine feels the way it does.
𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀…
Who is someone at SoulShine you’re always happy to see when you walk through the door?
Tag them below. Let’s give them a little love.
