Today we had the opportunity to meet with the clinical team of the Pavillion at Williamsburg Place, telling them about the client centered recovery program we offer here at StarCity Behavioral Health in partnership with Starfish Recovery & Wellness.

Thank you to Purcell Piggott for having us and allowing us to tour your beautiful facility. We look forward to collaborating in the near future!

At Star City Behavioral Health ❤️🏥, we know stabilization is only the beginning.
Our clinicians and social workers work tirelessly to help patients on behavioral health units find safe, stable housing after discharge 🏠. The calls, paperwork, advocacy, and coordination never stop — because recovery doesn’t end when someone is stabilized.
We’re so proud of their compassion and dedication 💙 — and that’s exactly why we make sure to spoil them with a few sweet treats here and there 🍪🍩🍫. They deserve it! ✨

We are thrilled to announce our Clinician, Kivon Benedict, as our Employee of the Month!

A former client from Kivon’s group reported that she recently had a difficult conversation with her child. Historically, after intense arguments with her child, she would go and use. This time, however, she shared that instead of acting on the urge, all she could think about was Kivon’s voice. She stated that she pictured her face and heard her telling her to breathe. As she focused on that, she reported that her urges and desire to use slowly went away.

The client shared that this was the first time she has ever been able to navigate a situation like that without using.

This is exactly the kind of impact we strive to have. Sometimes we have to come to the realization that we cannot save everyone, but all we need is just one. And in this case, that one moment made all the difference.

Kivon, thank you for the work you’re doing. It matters more than we sometimes get to see!

What a great day out in the community representing StarCity Behavioral Health! 💙✨
I had the opportunity to visit CARITAS Women’s Shelter, and what an incredible place it is. I toured the facility, met so many dedicated team members, and even had the chance to connect with a few of the amazing women they serve. It truly amazed me how beautiful the space is that they call home — warm, welcoming, and filled with hope. 🏠💛 The staff are so inviting and genuinely eager to support every individual who walks through their doors.
I’m hopeful we can continue building a strong partnership moving forward! 🤝
I also had the pleasure of spending time with officers from the Richmond Police Department, where they shared information about there Mobile Crisis services for Substance Abuse and Mental Health. They were beyond excited to learn about all that StarCity and Starfish have to offer for the overwhelming number of individuals they serve. 🚔💬
A special thank you to Jason Ryder, RPD Community Officer, for coordinating and taking me to meet the team. Your commitment to connecting resources in our community does not go unnoticed!
Days like today remind me why we do what we do. 🌟
