Saturday was an exciting day of hands-on training Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc. with providers from all across the region. Our focus was to refresh on basic and advanced airway skills, as well as applying them in difficult situations. All the providers knocked their skills out-of-the-park! We look forward to our next training.

Thank you for having us out to participate in this amazing training opportunity.

Sometimes the best learning experiences happen unexpectedly.

Today, the DE EMT class from @ Mecklenburg County High School made an impromptu stop to visit LifeEvac 5, where our crew spent over an hour introducing students to the world of Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS). From exploring the aircraft to learning about the advanced critical care medicine and teamwork behind every mission, it was a great opportunity to see what flight medicine looks like up close.

Our crew even turned the visit into a teaching moment—quizzing the students on what they’ve been learning in class and walking through real-world scenarios they may encounter in the field.

It was an exciting afternoon for both the students and the crew, made even better by the gorgeous weather.☀️

At LifeEvac 5, we’re proud to serve this community and always welcome opportunities to share our passion for flight medicine while supporting the next generation of EMS providers.

Thanks for stopping by and spending time with the team today.

Who knows — we may have met a few future flight medics. 🚁
