On Monday our duty crew from LifeEvac 4 headed down to VCU VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital to meet with a diverse group of VCU employees and nursing students taking an MCI 1&2 course. The team shared information about the HEMS industry, about our program and team dynamics, and about helicopter utilization and safety. The flight team reported back that the students asked an abundant of well thought out questions and were able to learn about the role of air medical transport and especially its role in an MCI situation. A big shout out to Marius Olivier, Chris Craft, and Chad Springer for helping get us out to interact with this class!
