Meet Dr. Sahaj Rathi, a hepatologist and therapeutic endoscopist who specializes in treating complex liver and pancreatic diseases.

“Diseases of the liver and pancreas can be very complex, and every patient’s anatomy and clinical needs are different. Complex digestive and liver diseases require a team approach, the best outcomes happen when specialists combine their expertise to tailor care for each patient.”

Dr. Rathi’s goal is to offer therapies that reduce the need for surgery, shorten recovery times and ultimately improve quality of life. Minimally invasive care is one way his team is strengthening the advanced endoscopy program at VCU Health for patients with complex GI conditions.

Minimally invasive surgical techniques are redefining how physicians treat complex liver and pancreatic diseases. Sahaj Rathi, M.D., is leading that transformation at VCU Health Hume-Lee Transplant Center.
