Stories like this remind us why compassionate care matters.

In this special video, Rodney Richardson, Chief of Police in Richmond, shares his perspective on the care his dear friend received at our Compassionate Care Center, and the compassion shown to both his friend and their family.

At Compassionate Care Plus, these moments are at the heart of everything we do, walking alongside patients and families with dignity, comfort, and support.

Watch the video to hear his story. To learn more about how you can support those living with serious and advanced illness, visit www.hospicecareplus.org or give us a call at 859-986-1500.

Today marks an exciting milestone for our organization as we officially launch our new name: Compassionate Care Plus.

This thoughtful change reflects the full scope of care and support we provide to individuals and families across Estill, Jackson, Lee, Madison, Owsley, and Rockcastle counties. While our name is evolving, our mission remains the same. We continue to provide exceptional, compassionate care, that honors life, ensuring dignity and comfort, as we walk alongside each person and family we serve.

You’ll begin seeing the new name starting today, with a soft rollout across our website and page. Over the course of 2026, Compassionate Care Plus will be gradually incorporated across all areas of our organization, including printed materials and our presence in the community.

We invite you to learn more about this transition and what it means for our community by visiting the link below:

Hopeful, Expert, Compassionate Care

We take pride in hopeful, compassionate, expert care that recognizes that life continues even when there is no cure. We work with you, your caregiver, your family, and your doctors to control symptoms at home so you can focus on what matters: what you want life to look like for the next several months. What do you want to do and experience? Where do you want to be? What are you fighting for, working towards, planning for, and how can we help you get there?

Whether you’re part of our hospice or palliative programs, and regardless of whether your care is in your home or at our Compassionate Care Center, our goal is simple: to help you achieve the highest quality of life and to support your caregiver and family. We emphasize dignity, hope, and compassion as we provide specialized medical and team care to manage pain, symptoms, and other challenges.

We work alongside patients and families to make every moment matter. Read more about us at www.hospicecareplus.org, or savor inspiring stories of our patients, families, and staff as they pursue bucket-list wishes together--truly making every moment matter-- at www.hcpblogs.com. Then, contact us: learn about our programs, become a volunteer, apply for employment, give your financial support, or interact with us on Facebook.

We are a non-profit hospice serving Madison, Estill, Jackson, Lee, Owsley and Rockcastle counties. We offer both hospice and palliative care as well as a bereavement program. We also own and operate the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, a short-term inpatient hospice facility for symptom management and respite care.
