This week, we continue our series “When Time Matters: Is Hospice the Next Step?”, created to help families, caregivers, and providers recognize when additional support may be needed.

This week, we are focusing on times when a loved one needs more help than family alone can provide, and how hospice can offer guidance, relief, and support.

As care needs increase, families often try to manage more than feels possible. Hospice provides professional support so loved ones do not have to face growing care needs alone.

To learn more about our services, or to refer a loved one, please give us a call at 859-986-1500 or visit www.hospicecareplus.org

Remembrance Tree Ornament Update

As a reminder, the Remembrance Tree at our Compassionate Care Center will remain up through next Friday, January 16, with all remaining reserved ornaments ready for pick up. After this time, the tree will be taken down and all remaining ornaments will be carefully stored away.

If you need to pick up your reserved ornament(s), please make plans to do so before next Friday. The center is open 7 days a week, so feel free to stop by anytime. If you have questions regarding ornaments, don't hesitate to give us a call at 859-986-1500 or email development@hospicecp.org.

This week, we begin our series “When Time Matters: Is Hospice the Next Step?”, created to help families, caregivers, and providers recognize when additional support may be needed.

Over the coming weeks, we will be sharing posts that highlight common signs it may be time to call hospice. These posts are meant to provide guidance and reassurance, showing that asking questions does not commit you to a decision.

Today, we are focusing on times when daily tasks are becoming harder. If a loved one is struggling with basic daily tasks and activities, hospice care may help them stay safe, comfortable, and at home, while also supporting caregivers along the way.

To learn more about our services, or to refer a loved one, please give us a call at 859-986-1500 or visit www.hospicecareplus.org

Thank You, Ladles of Love: A legacy of service and love comes to an end after nearly two decades.

As we head into the weekend, we are overflowing with gratitude for the "Ladles of Love" outreach through Church On the Rock and the incredible impact they have had on our hospice community. Since the opening of our Compassionate Care Center in 2008, this dedicated group of volunteers has faithfully delivered hot, homemade soup, serving patients, families, and staff with consistency, kindness, and care.

For nearly two decades, Ladles of Love has been so much more than a meal. Their service brought warmth, comfort, and a sense of being cared for during tender times, and their generosity became a reliable and much-anticipated gift to our center.

As they retire this service, we want them to know how deeply thankful we are for every pot stirred, every delivery made, and every act of generosity shared. Thank you, Ladles of Love, for the lasting legacy you leave behind and for supporting our community so faithfully for so many years.

If you have a group who would like to continue this legacy, we'd love to chat! Please reach out to our volunteer coordinator, Mariah Smith, for more info!

Hopeful, Expert, Compassionate Care

We take pride in hopeful, compassionate, expert care that recognizes that life continues even when there is no cure. We work with you, your caregiver, your family, and your doctors to control symptoms at home so you can focus on what matters: what you want life to look like for the next several months. What do you want to do and experience? Where do you want to be? What are you fighting for, working towards, planning for, and how can we help you get there?

Whether you’re part of our hospice or palliative programs, and regardless of whether your care is in your home or at our Compassionate Care Center, our goal is simple: to help you achieve the highest quality of life and to support your caregiver and family. We emphasize dignity, hope, and compassion as we provide specialized medical and team care to manage pain, symptoms, and other challenges.

We work alongside patients and families to make every moment matter. Read more about us at www.hospicecareplus.org, or savor inspiring stories of our patients, families, and staff as they pursue bucket-list wishes together--truly making every moment matter-- at www.hcpblogs.com. Then, contact us: learn about our programs, become a volunteer, apply for employment, give your financial support, or interact with us on Facebook.

We are a non-profit hospice serving Madison, Estill, Jackson, Lee, Owsley and Rockcastle counties. We offer both hospice and palliative care as well as a bereavement program. We also own and operate the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, a short-term inpatient hospice facility for symptom management and respite care.
