The Top Docs of 2026 have been released by Richmond Magazine. We are proud to share that out of 433 names, VCU Health team members made up the majority with more than 220 on the annual list.

Richmond magazine’s 2026 Top Docs issue has hit the newsstands – and it’s full of familiar names. To be specific, 93 CHoR physicians, advanced practice providers and specialty nurses were voted by their peers as the ones they’d recommend for care in their areas of expertise.

VCU Neurosurgery is proud to be ranked among the top 50 neurosurgery programs in the nation for NIH research funding, according to the latest Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research report.

Across VCU, 23 health sciences schools and departments also rank in the top 50 nationally, highlighting the university’s strong research momentum.

With $568 million in sponsored research funding in FY2025, VCU continues to advance discoveries that improve care and strengthen communities.
