🎉 Congratulations to Dustin Parks on recently completing our Community Health Worker (CHW) training program and earning his Certified CHW credential through the Virginia Certification Board just weeks later! 🎓🏅

Dustin is making a difference as the Community Benefits Outreach Coordinator at Feed More, where his passion for building trust and strengthening community connections truly shines. Here's what he had to say about the program:

"What stood out to me during the training was the focus on building trust and relationships—values that resonate deeply with me. I’m committed to strengthening our connections with both neighbors and community partners to ensure everyone gets the support they desire."

We are incredibly proud of Dustin's dedication and impact, and we look forward to seeing the positive change he continues to bring to the community. Keep up the amazing work, Dustin! 👏

We are excited to announce our upcoming Immersion series focused on Food is Medicine. As we know, food and nutrition play a critical role in the health and well-being of people but is typically not addressed enough in health professions training and practice. With that being said, we are hosting a 3-part Food is Medicine Immersion series where attendees (e.g. CHWs and other health care professionals) can learn more about nutrition, its role in health and disease, services and resources in Virginia, and how to apply this knowledge in practice.

Part 1 of this series will take place on October 15, 2024 from 5:30-7pm via Zoom (please see the flyer below) and will feature an introduction to nutrition for health and disease. Parts 2 and 3 will take place in November and January, respectively, and will focus on food and nutrition resources in Virginia and how to apply nutrition education into your daily work.
