🎉 Happy Recreational Therapy Month! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating Faith and the incredible work she does as a Recreational Therapist! Faith originally began her undergrad journey at JMU on a pre–physical therapy track, but everything changed when she discovered an organization offering therapeutic recreation. It was something she had never heard of before but once she learned more, she knew she had found exactly what she’d been looking for. That realization led her to transfer to Longwood, where she completed her schooling and followed her passion.

Faith likes to joke that she’s a professional hobbyist. From knitting, reading, and sewing to board games, pickleball, and so much more. Faith enjoys collecting hobbies. What makes her work especially meaningful is being able to help others discover activities that are meaningful to them, while experiencing all the benefits of leisure and recreation.

Thank you, Faith, for the joy, creativity, and purpose you bring to the people you support every day 💙🧡
