March 1st marked the 6th anniversary of Greensboro Transit Agency’s (GTA) partnership with UZURV. I-Ride is one of the first programs offering same-day service for certified ADA paratransit riders by leveraging an Adaptive Transportation Network Company.

GTA is proud to provide a higher level of independent mobility for its paratransit community, by giving riders access to same-day booking, wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAV), and the option to manage rides through a call-center or the UZURV Ride app. The program receives high marks, with a 98% rider satisfaction rate.

Anniversary Alert!

For three years UZURV has provided rides for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority - MBTA ADA Paratransit program, The RIDE, across the Boston region.

To manage periods of peak demand or trips that are difficult to schedule, the MBTA partners with UZURV for both ambulatory rides and those requiring Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAV).

We are honored to have been a long-time partner with the agency, and because of the excellent on-time service provided by drivers and WAV partners, monthly rides provided by UZURV have more than tripled.

METROLift, the Paratransit service of METRO in the Houston, TX region, focuses on providing a high level of service to its riders. We are thrilled to have been brought on as a partner for the program in their ongoing efforts to improve program efficiency and rider satisfaction.

Drivers on the UZURV network are what make these partnerships work. UZURV recruited a new, compliant fleet of providers in just 41 days, successfully launching on November 19th. Onboarding drivers includes drug and alcohol screenings to FTA standards, and guidance on how to provide appropriate and sensitive service to people with disabilities and older adults.

Happy Thanksgiving!
This Thanksgiving we want to thank our transit agency and program partners for all the effort they put into providing accessible transportation for everyone. It is our honor to work with you all.
We also want to thank the UZURV team members, especially those working during holidays, who work year-round to keep our programs running smoothly. In partnership with drivers and Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle providers we are able to provide services that connect riders with friends, family, medical appointments and employment – and just the freedom of transportation for citizens in their communities.

Thank you to everyone on this holiday working hard to provide mobility independence for everyone.

We are glad to announce riders eligible for Metro Mobility in the Minneapolis Region will soon be able to choose UZURV as a transportation option for the Premium On-Demand (POD) same-day service for both ambulatory and riders requiring wheelchair accessible vehicles.

UZURV will begin launching the program on September 3rd. Drivers on the UZURV network are onboarded to provide sensitive and reliable service for Metro Mobility riders, including being prepared to exit the vehicle for assistance, requested by the rider, to and from the door. Tomorrow, July 26th marks the 35th anniversary of the signing of the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA ended legal discrimination based on the presence of a disability in the areas of employment, programs and services provided by state and local governments, in places of public accommodation, and in the area of telecommunications.

The ADA also represented a promise to create a more accessible society, where all people (including those with disabilities), can participate and thrive. As President George H. W. Bush stated when he signed the ADA into law on July 26, 1990, “Every man, woman and child with a disability can now pass through once closed doors into a bright new era of equality, independence and freedom."

At UZURV, we celebrate this important day as an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to keeping the ADA’s promise, and we salute everyone (including our transit agency and business partners, as well as countless individuals and community-based organizations across the country) who are working to achieve the freedom that comes with mobility independence for everyone.

Pace is holding public hearings on proposed changes to the Taxi Access Program (TAP) and Rideshare Access Program (RAP) as part of the RTA’s 2025 ADA Paratransit Action Plan. Hearings will take place between July 24 and July 31 across six counties. The plan includes a proposed fare increase to $3.25 and a cap of 30 rides per month for TAP and RAP riders. It also formalizes free fixed-route rides for ADA-certified riders—a change already implemented by Pace in 2024.
Individuals can provide input at the hearings or submit comments online, by email, phone, or mail. All comments must be received by 5:00 p.m. on August 1, 2025, to be included in the official record and considered by the RTA.

Accessibility needs vary from person to person—there is no one-size-fits-all solution. This is why UZURV riders have the choice to book by phone, through their transit program, or the booking function in the UZURV Ride app.

Several of our innovative transit agency partners offer same-day, on-demand rider choice programs for their paratransit riders. Riders have played a central role in the development of the accompanying UZURV Ride app, leading to new features such as ride subscriptions, flexible fare collection methods, and real-time ride tracking, so it’s no wonder that it earns high praise from riders.

Today is the 8th anniversary of UZURV’s founding, which began because of the innovative thinking of GRTC, right here in Richmond, VA. The agency saw the high level of service our drivers provided, how delighted the riders were, and by leveraging UZURV, GRTC could realize significant savings for its Paratransit programs.

Since then, our transit agency partners across the country have been integral in guiding improvements to our services, and by listening to the feedback of riders, we have adapted the TNC model to serve them.

All along, the work of our mission has been done by our amazing network of UZURV providers and partners - the drivers. Ned Freeman, our CEO, thanked our drivers with the email below, and from everyone at UZURV, we echo it - “Thank you for what you do!”
