SCCP - VCU Student Chapter

The American College of Clinical Pharmacy - VCU Student Chapter focuses on advancing human health by extending the frontiers of clinical pharmacy.

ACCP - VCU Student Chapter provides students with a local connection to the national organization. We exist for the following reasons:

1. To familiarize students with the field of clinical pharmacy by providing information about careers and opportunities within the field of clinical pharmacy; promoting dedication to excellence in patient care, research, and education; and encouraging the professional development necessary to function within an interdisciplinary team.

2. To advocate for the role of clinical pharmacists in providing direct patient care, including evaluation of the patient and his or her pharmacotherapeutic needs; initiation, modification, or discontinuation of patient-specific pharmacotherapy; and ongoing pharmacotherapeutic monitoring and follow-up.

3. To encourage participation in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy at the national level and in local/regional chapters.

📣ATTENTION P1s and P2s: SCCP will be hosting the local qualifying round of the 2022 Clinical Research Challenge on TUESDAY, FEBRURARY 1st from 4:00-5:30 in Smith 103.

You can sign up in teams of 3 using the QR code on the flyer! Teams can be any combination of P1s or P2s; email Ryan at ongrc@vcu.edu or visit the official ACCP website (https://www.accp.com/stunet/crc/) if you need help finding a team.

**You do NOT need to be a member of SCCP to participate**

The CRC is a great way to apply the skills learned in evidence-based pharmacy! The winning local team will get the chance to represent VCU in the national competition and compete for a prize!

Join us THIS THURSDAY @ 12 pm via zoom (https://vcu.zoom.us/j/8043499809) for our Pharmacotrivia event! Come test your clinical and evidence-based pharmacy knowledge and get ready for some friendly competition!

Additionally, we will be talking about the ACCP Clinical Research Challenge open to P1s and P2s. This team-based competition allows a group of three pharmacy students to participate in an online journal club, the opportunity to submit a letter of intent, and a clinical research proposal! National membership is NOT required and the tentative date for the local competition is February 5th.
