The Sprouting Families Team has been hard at work here in the NoCo!

πŸ“·1: Check out the expansion at the North Country Children's Museum including the Family Resource Room meant for Infants and toddlers. Sprouting was excited to donate to such a worthy cause!

πŸ“·2: Mary and Desiree acting silly at the Doula and Midwife assistant's class this past Winter - (This means there are new doulas looking for clients)!

πŸ“·3: Mary, Desiree, and Julie expanding their education at the North Country Lactation Summit (Sad we missed Alison for the pic πŸ˜”).

πŸ“·4: One of our Red Tent Events - Please join us on the next new moon!

We are looking forward to hosting our own events at our new location the Tallman House and continuing to enhance our knowledge here at Sprouting Families.

Red tents were sacred spaces where women gathered to share, rest and support one another. Today we're using that ancient wisdom and creating spaces for women to reconnect, to belong. They can be circles and workshops. Or they can simply be time together. Red tents are reclaiming community, sisterhood, and rest.

Always on the New moon this month we are hosting our Red Tent conveniently at the Paige Room at the Canton Library.

Wednesday, March 18th, 6-8pm
Theme: Body Image Across the Years – How we’ve related to our bodies through time.

General Flow:
Meet at dusk
Nourishing food and tea to share
Story share directed with theme
Teaching
Closing song
We hope to see you there, sweet soul.

Did you know that here in St. Lawrence County most areas are considered maternity care deserts?

One of the ways Sprouting Families hopes to bridge the gap is by providing home health care. πŸ™πŸ’šπŸŒΏ

Midwives are stepping in where systems have stepped away. In West Virginia, the New York Times highlights how community based midwifery care is expanding access in places facing hospital closures and maternity care deserts.

At NACPM, this work is about more than geography. It’s about birth justice, dignity, and evidence based care that meets families where they are. Certified Professional Midwives provide relationship centered support across pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, especially in communities that have been historically underserved.

This is what systemic change can look like when care is rooted in community, trust, and equity. NACPM is proud to advocate for CPMs and community centered birth care that expands access, protects choice, and strengthens the future of midwifery.

Take a look at what this looks like in West Virginia with Staysha Quentrill. https://ow.ly/Jucb50XWNHz

Join NACPM in supporting evidence based, community centered care for every family.
