Filled with gratitude after spending the weekend with these amazing humans! It was such an honor to share my knowledge and passion for EMDR with this group of therapists. They were dedicated, vulnerable, and hungry to learn. We even had some fun….”notice” the practicing of lion breath in the picture 🦁.

Congratulations to the latest cohort of EMDR Therapists who completed their Part 2 Training this weekend! We now have 20 new EMDR Therapists to help heal this world utilizing this incredibly powerful modality ❤️‍🩹

Thank you to my fabulous practicum facilitator, Michelle 🙏🏻. If you’d like to do an in person EMDR training with us, we will be back at it again in April and May and registration is open!

Take what you need, bring what you can, fill our town with love

Last week, RPS announced that the District will partner with local teen Ruby Weiner for a Food Drive in November*. Each school will collect non-perishables and have designated collection boxes. View pantry locations and lists of requested donations here. Please check sell-by dates and look for cans with tabs whenever possible.

Ridgefield families in need or willing to help others beyond the RPS Food Drive initiative can reach out to Ridgefield Social Services. Thank you to Aramark, the District's food service provider, which will supply meals for families; for more information about this confidential and convenient support, please reach out to building leaders or Andrea McCurry at Aramark. Free and reduced lunch will continue at RPS. A special shout-out to Ruby; Ezra Zimmerman, who donated the collection boxes; the PTA Council, and to all those who have already reached out to help.

*Please note that some schools have already initiated food drives for this month. Farmingville, Ridgebury, and RHS families' donations will go to other deserving local charities. We are all partners and do not want these drives to cause undue stress, confusion, or competition between charities.

Good Morning! We do have showers that will linger through at least the morning hours today before some brightening during the afternoon. UNSEASONABLY COLD air works in tonight and tomorrow, with a freeze expected all the way down to the shoreline. FIRST FLAKES are possible for your Veteran's Day as some flurries will likely fly through the region, best chance in the NW hills. Cool pattern ahead for the foreseeable future.

As the days get shorter and life feels busier, remember to take a moment for yourself. Breathe, slow down, and do something that helps you feel grounded, even if it’s just sitting with a warm mug for a few quiet minutes.

Small moments of care add up. 🌿

I hope you enjoyed the extra hour of sleep! It will be quite a nice fall day today as high pressure is in control, allowing for LESS WIND than we have seen the last few days. Temperatures will be near average for this time of year. Note that our October 30th storm really put a dent in our rainfall deficit, with many stations finishing with over 5" of rain for October.

If more than just some seasonal depression has you down, reach out to Bonnie Luft - Integrated Behavioral Health for support. With welcoming offices in Ridgefield and Danbury, CT, and convenient online therapy for residents of Connecticut and New York, we they proudly serve our local communities.

SNAP (supplemental nutrition assistance program) is currently unfunded beyond Oct. 31, 2025.

In 2024, 381 Ridgefield residents accessed SNAP.
70% of the residents we help on a monthly basis are seniors or single parents and their children.

In Nov. 2025, how will they feed their families?

Please consider a one time, or recurring donation to help Ridgefield Social Services step up to continue feeding our Ridgefield neighbors.
