It will be nice to start your Thursday, but all attention turns to our approaching Grinch Storm tonight through Friday. Winds will ramp up tonight, with periods of heavy rain and gusty winds by the Friday morning commute. It could be pretty nasty out for your trip to work or school, so please keep that in mind. Winds will gust 35-50 mph across much of the state. We get a lull midday Friday and there could even be some breaks of sun. A strong cold front then swings through later Friday afternoon with rapidly dropping temperatures and a surge of strong winds 40 to 50 mph region wide.

As temperatures drop, I would watch for some black ice Friday night into Saturday morning as temps drop into the middle 20s. Good news is the weekend looks pleasant. Eyeing Tuesday for our next shop at a clipper system.

Active stretch ahead! Winds will really ramp up today as colder air pushes back in. Expect wind chills in the 10s or 20s much of the day, with air temperatures in the low 30s. Cannot rule out a flurry this afternoon or evening all the way from the Great Lakes. All attention will then turn to the system Saturday night and Sunday. It stays cold into early next week with yet another clipper system on Tuesday.
