Who’s ready for the solar eclipse today!? In just a little bit we’ll be experiencing a partial solar eclipse here in Ridgefield! Even though it’s not a total eclipse (and unfortunately may be too cloudy) it is still exciting and requires proper eye protection! Here are some safety tips to remember:

1. You need proper iso standardized sunglasses to view the eclipse. The proper iso rating is “iso 12312-2”. If you purchased solar eclipse sunglasses you should find that rating imprinted on the temple of the sunglasses.

2. Don’t be tempted to use your regular sunglasses even if they are polarized, direct sunlight is too powerful and regular sunglasses do not block out the rays that can damage the back of your eyes

3. Regardless of whether or not you see it - “Total Eclipse of the Heart” needs to be your soundtrack for today (bummed it’s not in instagrams music library so I can’t assist you with that)
The partial eclipse will be at its maximum eclipse at 11:26am today (runs from 10:34am-12:19pm)
