One of the biggest mistakes I see in health and wellness today is that people are trying to fix symptoms instead of understanding systems.

Someone has anxiety, can’t sleep, can’t lose weight, is constantly reactive with their partner or children...
And each of those things gets treated like separate problems.

But the human body doesn’t work that way.
It’s one interconnected system.

Your stress patterns influence your hormones.
Your relationships influence your nervous system.
Your sleep influences your metabolism.
Your emotional history influences your physiology.

So when I work with someone, I’m not asking:
“How do we get rid of this symptom?”

I’m asking:
“What is the system trying to tell us?”

Because when you understand the whole system, the symptoms start to make sense.

To me, it’s simply responsible care, because true health requires understanding the whole person: body, mind, relationships, environment, and lived experience.

And that’s where real healing begins.

Some people call this alternative medicine.
I call it essential care.
Because looking at the whole person isn’t alternative…
it’s the foundation of real health.

I’m not here to be an influencer, and I’m not here to hand out medical advice.

I’m here because, after nearly three decades of working with individuals and families, I’ve learned a tremendous amount about human health, healing, and relationships… and I believe that knowledge should be shared.

So I write.
I record videos.
I teach.

And I try to offer as much thoughtful education and perspective as I can, freely, so that people who are searching for answers have access to information that might support them on their journey.

One of the things I see most clearly in my work is that people today are trying to navigate life without a village.

We’re raising children, caring for families, and trying to heal ourselves often without the kind of community and guidance that humans were once surrounded by.

In my own small way, I’ve tried to create that village again — whether through the work I do in person, through my writing and teaching, or through the things I share here.

If something I offer helps you understand yourself, your family, or your health a little more clearly, then I’m grateful.

That’s why I’m here.

Something stayed with me after the class I taught last night.

We were talking about why people react the way they do in relationships.

And one thing I see over and over again is how quickly people blame themselves.

They think, ‘I should have handled that better… I should be calmer… I should know how to respond differently.’

But what most people don’t realize is that many reactions happen before the thinking mind even has time to step in.

The body reacts first, by drawing on patterns it learned long ago, often in completely different situations.

So instead of asking, ‘What’s wrong with me?’

A much better question is:

‘What did my body learn that it’s still trying to protect me from?’

Because once we understand the pattern, we can begin to change it.

And that’s where real healing begins.

And so it is

This Thursday, I’ll be teaching the real reason parenting, relationships, and caregiving feel harder than they should and what actually helps.

We’ll look at what’s happening in your system during moments of overwhelm, reactivity, and conflict, and how to change the emotional climate of your home.

You will receive a workbook, a replay, and a private virtual session with me.

REFLECTIONS FROM A WEEK IN THE THERAPY ROOM

This week in my clinical work, one pattern stood out across ages, diagnoses, and life circumstances: nervous systems pushed far beyond their limits.
Chronic stress, uncertainty, illness, and relentless pressure are keeping bodies in survival mode, and the immune system is paying the price.
This reflection is about what I’m seeing, why so many people are exhausted and unwell, and what actually helps restore safety and resilience in a world that won’t slow down.

Still trying all the practices and protocols and nothing is working?

Still feeling anxious, sick, stuck, and exhausted?

Still dealing with digestive issues, brain fog, no libido, food intolerances, autoimmune disease, mold toxicity, overweight, chronic stress and more?

Still guarding yourself in intimate relationships?

Still controlling instead of connecting with your kids?

Safety determines whether:
Your body can heal
Your mind can focus
Your heart can open
Your soul can expand
Your children can coregulate with you
S*x feels sacred and pleasurable
Your hormones are balanced
You can digest your food
Your ideas can manifest
You can be successful at work
You can make money
You can lose weight
You can have a heart in rhythm
You can detoxify the toxins
You can have babies
You can have energy
You can open to love
You can connect with yourself others

Safety is the prerequisite for EVERYTHING in this life

You can take all the right supplements.
You can inject the latest medication.
You can count macros, lift weights, fast, detox, cold plunge, drink green juice, do hot yoga, biohack your mornings…

But if your nervous system is stuck in survival mode, your body will fight you.
It’s not trying to betray you.
It’s trying to protect you!

When your system perceives danger whether from trauma, chronic stress, toxins, emotional suppression, or even perfectionism, it shuts down all non-essential processes:
✨ digestion
✨ reproduction
✨ metabolism
✨ detoxification
✨ thyroid function
✨ weight loss
Because healing and thriving only happen when the body feels safe.

We cannot heal what our system believes is too dangerous to feel.

We must tend to the people places plans patterns poisons that surround us.
And we can do that while showing our system that we are safe.
By building trust from within.

Fear closes cells.
Trust opens cells.

To heal, grow, thrive, safety is the most crucial medicine of our modern times.

I am here to help guide you back...

and so it is...

Dr Kristy

Why I Don’t Celebrate World Mental Health Day

Someone decided that today is World Mental Health Day,
And I want to say something that might sound a little different…

I don’t celebrate World Mental Health Day, because every day should be.

And honestly, I don’t even call it “Mental Health” anymore,
Because we are not just minds...
We are multidimensional beings—energetic, physiological, psychological, relational, and spiritual.

You can’t support the mind without honoring the body.
You can’t heal the psyche without nurturing the spirit.

We are triune beings: body, mind, spirit.
Denying or neglecting one component means the others cannot truly heal.

True health isn’t about fixing a broken part; it’s about remembering our wholeness.

So today, and every day, I stand as an advocate for whole-person wellness;
for the full spectrum of what it means to be human.

Let’s stop separating what was never meant to be divided.
Let’s honor the whole being.

If this message resonates, please share it. Help me remind the world that wellness isn’t a one-day event—it’s a multidimensional way of being.

And so it is...

xoxo

🎙️Rewilding Wellness Wednesdays:
When the Systems Fail Us: Su***de, Grief, & Healing

Su***de is a crisis that is a consequence of broken systems....

We’ve lost too many lives to silence, to unanswered phone calls, to prescriptions handed out like candy without care for the side effects, to schools and systems that ignore the very fundamentals of humanness.

In this episode, I talk about:

🔦Medication errors and silence: how one unanswered phone call, one wrong prescription, one abrupt change in dosage can push a person over the edge.

🔦Side effects no one talks about: the emotional blunting, the numbness, the loss of joy that tears families apart as much as the depression itself.

🔦How grief is mishandled: why our culture labels grief as “depression” instead of honoring it as a sacred process of love and loss.

🔦Schools failing our children: what happens when we teach test scores instead of teaching kids how to regulate their nervous systems, handle hardship, and build resilience.

🔦The truth about resilience: why adversity isn’t something to be avoided but a teacher that builds strength—and how overprotection is hurting our kids.

🔦The disconnection epidemic: how isolation, scrolling, and silence are replacing the conversations and connections that save lives.

🔦The myth of the quick fix: why we can’t medicate our way out of a crisis rooted in disconnection, trauma, and a lack of human presence.

🔦Everyday prevention: small, tangible practices—breathing, moving, storytelling, ritual, reaching out—that keep us from losing ourselves to a system that doesn’t see our wholeness.

🔦The power of showing up: why listening without fixing, asking without fear, and sitting with someone in their pain can literally be the medicine that keeps them alive.

🔦The reminder you need right now: you are not broken. You are human. And there is a way through.

This isn’t just a podcast...its information that could change and save a life.

You were never meant to hustle your body into holiness...

🎙️Join me LIVE for tonight’s episode that is a reckoning with the lies we’ve been told:

** That control is care.
**That punishment is discipline.
**That beauty is earned through suffering.

I’m here to remind you:
Your body is not a trend.
Not a competition.
Not a before-and-after.

It is sacred, sovereign, and ALWAYS worthy of your love.

👉This episode is for anyone who’s ever overtrained, undernourished, dieted, dissociated, or doubted their own reflection.

It’s time to come back to your flesh as a temple.
