ThankBank

ThankBank Created to make it easy to thank someone that went out of their way for you. A Sample “Thank”
Diane is visiting a family member at a local hospital. home page.

When the orderly, Jose, delivers the patient’s dinner, he notices that Diane is uncomfortable in the chair she is sitting in. He also remembers that there is a more comfortable chair in the adjoining and vacant room. Without being asked to do so, he brings in the more comfortable chair so that Diane’s visit is more pleasant. After visiting hours, Diane is leaving the recovery floor when she takes out her mobile phone. The ThankBank mobile app automatically identifies where she is. Instead of simply “liking” the group page of the hospital on Facebook, Diane is able to pull up a list of hospital employees currently on staff and “thank” Jose with a brief, personal written message. ThankBank.net facilitates and records this “thank” exchange, and keeps track of the number and type of “thanks” for each employee at this particular hospital, supplying dynamic and cumulative feedback to the hospital administrators. The “thank” can then be shared on Diane’s Facebook wall as well as the hospital’s wall, and Jose may post the “thank” to other sites such as his Yahoo! What would have previously been a verbal gesture lost in the moment is now published and recorded giving gratitude to someone who deserves it and giving an employer valuable information about a helpful employee.

Thankfulness is an art.

"In our world of big names, curiously, our true heroes tend to be anonymous. In this life of illusion and quasi-illusion, the person of solid virtues who can be admired for something more substantial than his well-knownness often proves to be the unsung hero: the teacher, the nurse, the mother, the honest cop, the hard worker at lonely, underpaid, unglamorous, unpublicized jobs." -Daniel J Boorstin, historian (1914-2004)

1 woman took the unusual step of writing American Air to relate what fantastic (and unexpected) experiences she had time & time again with a particular gate agent. That letter became this piece in the WSJ. Brava to both!

In the era of self-service travel, when people think customer service flew away with free checked bags, Ellen Heberer and agents like her are a rarity.

When was the last time you said a simple thanks to someone - even if they give you money? Some good ideas from a local paper. (Local papers rule!)

When did you last say thank you to your clients, your customers, your family? Not just a quick 'thanks mate,' and not a discount, but simply a thank you, because we think you rock?
