She worked as a Genetic Counselor for 14 years, a role in which she facilitated many support groups. She has been a Reiki Practitioner since 1997, became a Reiki Master in 2000, and a Karuna Reiki® Master in 2008. She is an ordained Priest in the order of Melchizidek, an Advanced Level Integrated Energy Therapist (IET), and a Level III Reconnective Healing® Practitioner. JoAnn also founded and directs Turning Point Reiki, LLC and Turning Point Healing Arts and Education Center. holds a monthly meeting for women in the process of ending a marriage or who are recently divorced. This positive group experience provides holistic support to women with the goal of helping them move into a new life fortified, empowered, and confident. often brings guest speakers to these meetings who offer their professional expertise on different aspects of the divorce process and beyond. The group also provides a wealth of resources and literature on the subject that many members have found quite useful. Divorce Group chose the cherry tree as its symbol because it symbolizes rebirth and the ability to arise from the fires in one’s own life and to start anew, stronger and more magnificent than before. If one connects with the cherry tree, it will help to inspire faith and trust on high levels. It helps the individual to let go of aspects of their personality that are preventing growth. It reminds us in nature that when there is death, there is always rebirth.
