For years, I struggled with staying connected to what I wanted for myself. I'd get clear on my intentions, and then life would take over. Before I knew it, months would pass and I'd lost track of my own vision.

So I created a framework. One grounded in mindfulness and inner compassion that helps me stay gently connected throughout the year. I've been using it for years now, and it works.

Monday, I'm sharing it with my newsletter community first.

Introducing Vision Voyage.

Public launch coming January 1st.

Three things to let go of before the new year:

1. The idea that you need perfect motivation. Motivation comes and goes. You need a system that works even when you're not feeling it.

2. Rigid expectations that don't account for real life. Life is messy. Your plan needs to bend, or it will break.

3. The belief that balance means everything all the time. Balance is about paying attention to what needs attention right now. Some seasons you focus on work. Some seasons you focus on rest. That's being human.

Real change comes from a different approach. More soon.

Why New Year's Resolutions Don't Work (And What Actually Does)

Every December, we do the same thing. We think about what we didn't accomplish this year. We make resolutions for January. And by February, we've lost track of it all.

It's not because we're lazy or unmotivated. It's because most resolution approaches are missing three critical things:

Vision First
We jump straight to goals without connecting to a bigger picture. We set resolutions based on trends or what we think we should do, not what actually aligns with our authentic selves. Without that deeper vision, the resolutions feel empty and don't stick.

A Sustainable System
Setting resolutions with no system to stay connected to them means they drift away. We need a framework that keeps our vision alive throughout the year, not just in January. Monthly check-ins. Quarterly assessments. A way to adjust as life changes.

Self-Compassion
Making changes is hard. Obstacles will arise. We'll make decisions counter to our goals. If we beat ourselves up about it, we give up. But self-compassion allows us to navigate challenges skillfully and keep going.

What actually works? A framework that starts with vision, builds in a sustainable system, and makes room for self-compassion along the way.

I've been using this kind of approach in my own life for years. It works. And I'm getting ready to share it with you soon.

Behind the scenes of a one-person business: recording, editing, website building, content writing, all of it.

I've been working on something for months now. A framework I created for myself that actually works. One that keeps me connected to what matters throughout the year instead of losing track by spring.

It's grounded in mindfulness and self-compassion. It's about making real, sustainable changes in your life.

Almost ready to share it with you.

Did this year fly by for you too?
When life moves this fast, you need more than good intentions to stay on track.

December hits and suddenly we're all looking back at the year thinking about everything we didn't do. The goals that faded. The intentions that got lost.

But what if the problem isn't you? What if it's the approach?

Most of us don't need more motivation. We need a sustainable system for staying connected to what actually matters to us.

I've been thinking a lot about this lately. More to come.

The hummingbirds have moved on, and I miss them. But they had to go. Seasons need to change. We want to hold onto things, but change is part of how life works.

A simple moment, a floating leaf, a reminder to slow down. There’s so much quiet wonder in the ordinary if we just pause long enough to notice. Let’s stay grounded in realness y’all. That’s The Tangible Way. 🌿

Thinking of Thich Nhat Hanh, who would have turned 99 today. He lived through war, exile, and great loss, yet devoted his life to peace and compassion.

His teaching, “No mud, no lotus,” continues to remind me that even in the hardest conditions, something beautiful can grow. 🪷
