Community Peace and Justice Network Overall Purpose: Empower and listen directly to lesser heard voices in our surrounding communities toward action for peace, justice and compassion.

PURPOSE - AUGUST 2020 - JULY 31, 2021:
Listen, lead, teach and organize to dismantle racism and move toward the “Beloved Community” envisioned by Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. during and following the COVID-20 pandemic. Components:
1. Embrace anti-racism movement through education, organizing and activism
2. Embrace the holistic health of body, mind and spirit need for maintaining resilience, courage and persistence in pursuing anti-racism
3. Embrace and advocate for activities and policies to meet basic human needs of food, shelter, housing and health care and other social services in this time of -increased stress related to COVID – 19 that disproportionally negatively people of color and other disadvantaged people.

We’re excited to invite you back to "A New World Seminar" as we resume after the summer break! 🌿 Join us on September 17th at 7:00 PM in the Peace Lounge or online via Zoom for a timely discussion: Democracy for All?

📣Notice: A New World Seminar Will Resume in the Fall

The Community Peace and Justice Network's "A New World Seminar" will be taking a summer break. Our seminars will pause during the summer months and will resume in the fall.

📣 Announcement

As we wrap up this segment of our seminar, we express our gratitude to each of you for contributing to its engaging and insightful nature.

A New World seminar will be on a short break until January 23rd, 2024, allowing everyone the opportunity to recharge before we resume our discussions.

During this hiatus, we encourage you to take time for relaxation and enjoyment of the holiday season. May it bring you moments of peace and reflection. We look forward to reconvening with you, refreshed and ready to continue exploring our chosen topic.

“A New World” joins “Community Read 2022” – reading CASTE by Pulitzer Prize winning author Isabel Wilkerson, with virtual events and discussions from March 15th through March 31st.

Please begin by reading CASTE for our regular March Seminar on March 15, 7:00 PM. Our Seminar Leader, Rev. Dr. Arturo Pierre Lewis will be joined by Rabbi Ronald Roth, Rabbi Emeritus of the Fair Lawn Jewish Center//Congregation B’nai Israel in a discussion of the book. If you registered once for the seminars, you do not need to do so again.

You are invited to join one of the six "Small Group Discussions" of CASTE (called Midway Moments). If you are already a member of a Midway Moment Group, you do not need to sign up again.

Please take the opportunity to join in the "Panel Discussion on CASTE with African-American, Asian-American and Jewish speakers on Thursday March 31, 7:30 PM (EST) - 8:30 PM.
