Hey guys, check out The Kane Republican newspaper today 12/17 for a surprise shout-out from Jill Forquer and her business Allegheny Nesting and her brick and mortar location the Nest & Nourish Homestead Boutique in Kane.
She wrote this article thinking of me and my fiber arts in the local Elk County area. We work closely every spring to have her alpacas sheared and their fleeces processed into yarn, hats, scarfs, shawls, fingerless gloves, dryer balls and more. I also teach a Farm to Fabric set of classes with her alpaca that takes you from Shearing Day through Processing to Spinning Yarn, Dying Yarn, Weaving your own shawl or Knitting your own hat. I also have a Free Public Craft group called Yarn Arts Anonymous here on Facebook and we meet in person every week in Ridgway!
The photo is of me skirting and sorting 2 of Black Hawk's fleeces late this past fall. He was a beautiful reddish brown color and is the softest texture of wool out of the small herd.
Feel free to visit the craft groups page or see us in person currently at The Creative Cup on Sundays from 10-2 every week. Come and go as you need to, free to attend, 18+ only and enjoy the atmosphere, food and drinks.
Classes are soon to be booked for the 2026 season and 1 to 1 classes are available! If you have any questions please feel free to comment or message me here. I hope you all have a great holiday season and a happy New Year!
