Allow me to introduce myself….
Originally from Southern California, I moved to the Western Slope at the beginning of the pandemic. As a three-sport athlete in high school and playing college football, I was no stranger to succumbing and rehabbing from injury. I previously graduated from the Cerritos College Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program in 2017 while simultaneously working on my doctorate of physical therapy degree. Being the first in school history to do a dual program I graduated from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA in 2019. Previously I have worked in multiple settings in California, Arizona, Texas, and Colorado such as skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), acute rehab hospitals, orthopedic hospitals, neuro-rehabilitation hospitals, outpatient clinics, and home health settings. I have worked at Rancho Los Amigos Neuro Rehabilitation Center in Downey, CA where I have extensive training working with people with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), spinal cord injuries (SCIs), balance disorders, and analyzing and treating people with abnormal gait patterns.
MOVE TO COLORADO
Transitioning to Colorado I have worked at Glenwood Medical Associates outpatient Physical Therapy working side by side with physicians in the Roaring Fork Valley working with mostly general orthopedic injuries and chronic pain patients. Currently, I work during the week at the Veteran’s Home and Grand River Health (GRH) in Rifle, CO at their outpatient clinic for land and aquatic-based physical therapy as well as on the med surge floor of the hospital.
SPECIALTY WORKING WITH ATHLETES
Being a former college athlete as a linebacker I grew to understand and love the idea of helping others through rehabilitation. In addition, I have been an assistant wrestling coach for Century High School (Santa Ana, CA), Costa Mesa High School (Costa Mesa, CA), and Glenwood Springs High School (Glenwood Springs, CO). From my vast athletic experiences, I have grown to gravitate towards helping athletes return to sport as soon and as safely as possible. In 2023, I helped start GRH a return to sport program for the Sports and Orthopaedic Program with two orthopedic surgeons, one sports physician, and athletic trainers. In addition to working at GRH and building a private clientele, I completed a fellowship program through the American Academy of Orthopaedic and Manipulative Physical Therapy earning the FAAOPMT certification as well as a diploma in osteopractic care (Dip. Osteopractic), certified in dry needling (Cert. DN), and certification in spinal manipulation (Cert. SMT). Receiving the FAAOMPT certification is the highest cert for orthopedic physical therapy and make up only 0.5% of all licensed physical therapists.
