Please join us in congratulating Heath Grant of Clinic 2 in Rifle, our December Starfish Award Winner.
Heath received three nominations this past month, a testament to the positive impact he has on those around him. Congratulations, Heath—you are truly a shining light to so many.
Below are the nominations Heath received:
1. I would like to nominate Heath for the Starfish Award in recognition of the extraordinary impact he makes every single day. He is one of the kindest, hardest-working, and most genuinely incredible people I have had the pleasure of working with. On multiple occasions, his attention to detail, clinical awareness, and persistence have quite literally saved multiple lives. He has recognized signs of serious patient distress that could easily have been missed, and because he spoke up and followed through, those patients received the emergency, life-saving care they needed. Without his vigilance and advocacy, the outcomes could have been very different. Beyond his clinical skill, he brings an unmatched warmth and humanity to our workplace. He is consistently kind, upbeat, and goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone feels seen and cared for — whether they are patients, providers, or coworkers. His presence alone can shift the tone of a difficult day, and his genuine compassion leaves a lasting impression on everyone he encounters. Our entire floor looks forward to seeing his smiling face each morning, and colleagues across departments appreciate every interaction they have with him. He touches countless lives through both his actions and his character. He truly embodies what the Starfish Award represents: making a meaningful difference, one person at a time. He carries this spirit with him in everything he does, each and every day, and is more than deserving of this recognition.
2. Heath is always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. Not only does he have one of the most infectious cheery personalities, he is hard working, efficient, and dedicated and does it with a smile every single day. He always goes the extra mile. Recently he took the time to run me paperwork that I needed so that I didn't have to come and get it. Walking has been extra painful for me lately and that extra bit of customer service and patient care really meant a lot to me and made a world of difference. If I could duplicate Heath into every area of the facility I would. He is phenomenal and really deserves this award.
3. I am nominating Heath Grant for the Starfish Award because he is a very special, warm hearted person who really cares for the patient! Heath always greets me with his sweet southern drawl politely using my last name. He always asks how I’m doing and is fully engaged giving me a huge smile when things are good or you can see the genuine concern he has when things aren’t the best. He is very thorough with his questions so he can update Dr. Feeney before she comes in to see me. He also takes a moment to just chat with me sharing something fun in his life or complement me on my weight loss! I have received calls from Heath in the late afternoon hours on a Saturday, catching up on patient care. His voice sweet and happy as he updated me on some results. When I asked why he was calling on a weekend he said “patient care comes first. Besides, Dr. Feeney is sweating it out right next to me so it’s fine”. I know Heath is going to nursing school while working full time at GRH. He’s incredible! I wish him nothing but the best during this hectic time! I know he will do even more amazing things when he becomes a nurse!
