Recommended reading! Currently halfway through this book, written by a 13 year old non-verbal boy with autism via his alphabet keyboard system he uses to write! It's amazing!

Starting something new! (and the bumps along the way as we explore and test how to best implement this new idea!)
First drawing will be May 5 for April attendance!
Attendance slips that went out this month were for the first quarter (so since Jan 1st just to give everyone an idea of where they are). However, monthly attendance for April will be different than what may have been on your slip. If you have concerns about if you qualify, please ask Mrs. Alexis in the office!!

Pencil grasp and handwriting skills are common areas of development in which our OT receives many questions!! Often times, insurance (yuck) doesn't approve this type of therapy so we thought a post would be helpful to our community base!! Many of the items you already have lying around the house. The 500 broken crayons from the last 2 years of school! (Yes please!) The bead maker set from Christmas, throw those in some putty, slime or playdoh and have your kiddo pull them out to help build strength and tripod action! Parents...you got this!
