Had an awwww moment in worship the other evening. We have one little granny who has “happy dementia” – she wakes up every morning with a smile and a random little tune. And that is how she goes through the day. A couple of weeks ago she decided to try and play golf with her cane – there was a random golf ball lying near the sidewalk (our valley used to be a golf course many years ago) but unfortunately took a fall and ended up with a broken wrist and hip. It didn’t slow her down one bit! Came back from the hospital after a couple of days with a new hip but the same big smile and same little tunes. When she sits at the table for worship, she usually spends her time paging through the hymnbook – until this particular evening! She turned her wheelchair around so she was facing the piano and bass, folded her hands in her lap, closed her eyes and sang all three songs in a beautiful contralto voice – something she has never done before! The songs were “Glory to His Name”, “Trust and Obey” and “Blessed Assurance”. Those are “her” songs, and that is her life!
