We are often asked โwhat is the difference between BLS and ALS?โ
BLS (Basic Life Support) provides essential, immediate care like CPR and first aid, performed by a wider range of professionals, while ALS (Advanced Life Support) involves more complex, invasive procedures like IVs, medications, and advanced airway management, performed by specialized providers such as paramedics.
Paramedics are able to interpret ECGs to bypass to cardiac centers, administer advanced medications and blood products, provide pain management, and perform high level care to include caring for patients requiring advanced airway management, ventilators, and IV medication infusions.
When not on calls and transports our Paramedics work side by side in the hospital with hospital providers offering an extra set of hands and speciality care to stabilize critical care patients.
Our ambulances are equipped with ALS supplies and equipment and EARH provides at least 1 ALS staffed ambulance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to the citizens of eastern Adams county and all who pass through our community.
We are committed to providing the best prehospital emergency care to keep our community safe and cared for!
