Many brain scans require gadolinium contrast in order to properly visualize the vasculature. NOVA® studies are non-invasive and do NOT require any contrast agent.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today announced that it will investigate the risk of gadolinium-based contrast agents in the wake of several recent studies that found gadolinium deposits in the brains of some patients years after they received contrast-enhanced MRI scans.
