Join me for my first workshop in my Artist Residency at The Honeycomb Network to create your own personalized Mini Ancestor Shrine. We will be working on one of many ways to perform ancestor veneration by way of creating a mini ancestral shrine/altar. An shrine/altar is created using photos, as well as other objects that represent your ancestors, including offerings to your ancestors.
11 person capacity for this workshop.
It's a first pay first book basis...mandatory mask use throughout workshop whether you're vaccinated or not. Thanks for your support!

After creating and preparing the Ancestor shrine, we will cleanse the shrine energetically using dry herbal incense smoke. We will also share in a gratitude prayer to our Ancestors.

LOCATION: The Honeycomb Network 2659 W. Division st.

TIME: 3 to 6 pm.

MATERIALS INCLUDED:
Pre-made naked wood mini shrine size, hot glue gun,
Acrylics for painting & personalizing your Ancestor Shrine.
Lace, shells, flowers, mini - howlite skulls, wood & white paper butterflies, various beads, lace doilies, printed Ancestor quotes, twine & mini clothes pins for hanging images or quotes, battery operated tea light candles for shrine.

What to bring:
Photos of Ancestor or Ancestors ( include as many as you'd like to on 1 shrine)...if you don't want to use an original photo, you can photo copy it on printer.
Bring in any small objects you may want to incorporate onto your shrine that represents your Ancestor.
Example: if they sewed...needle & thread, if they smoked...cigar, cigarette, herb, jewelry etc..,

Our Ancestors live through us, within us. Shrines/Altars serve as portals from the earthly realm to the ancestral realm. We honor our Ancestors by creating sacred spaces to connect with them. In this space we can meditate, pray, ask for guidance, and be open to whatever guidance they have for us. Being connected to Ancestors empowers and liberates us.

I'm getting messages from folks asking about covid safety protocols for my exhibit...which is completely understandable when attending an indoor event. Masks will be mandated throughout your time in the space whether you are vaccinated or not, temperature checks, as well as distancing for everyone's safety. Guests will NOT he occupying the space in large numbers...we have a viewing window from 3:30 pm to 8:30 pm, and a numbered amount of guests will walk through the exhibit in timely intervals on a first come first serve basis. No limit to how many times you can enter the space. We will also have vendors outside of the entrance to keep everyone from hovering over vending tables indoors. Please be considerate of vendors and wear your mask when approaching them even if it's outdoors. As most of you know I was diagnosed with cancer in January. Just as your safety is of concern so is mine...I will be creating a covid safe zone with a protective shielded area that you will be able to see and talk to me from, but will not enter. Air hugs & air kisses will be acceptable! LOL!

The Honeycomb Network has 2 spaces to keep the exhibit guest walking through with enough distance for safety...additionally Honeycomb has several hospital grade air purifiers throughout the space and roughly 1700 square feet to comingle in safely. If you are sick in anyway please do NOT attend. The exhibit will be up for a while so you can attend when you're well or if you prefer to view the art when there are less people attending...check the page for business days & hours to do so. If you have any other concerns or questions feel free to comment below. If any of these safety protocols are an issue for you, you have the option not to attend and keep your ass at home!!! The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year & the first day of summer! Summer energizes us to expand & take action. With the sun giving us abundance of the fire element, it's a great time for passions & purpose to be reignited.

With more of the day lit up by the sun, this is a time for motivation to get more done in a day. Use this summer energy to create desired change you've been longing for all spring! I've created a Summer Solstice Meditation, Chakra Dance, Seasonal Shift Journal Prompt & Ritual kit ( pic posted) for a 3 hour Retreat in my Garden Sanctuary!
