This client originally went to an artist who wasn’t properly educated in pigment chemistry, and over time her “skin-tone” ink healed into a cool blue tone.

What most people don’t realize is that skin-tone inks are complex mixtures of both organic and inorganic pigments. Each component ages differently:
• Some organic pigments are fully metabolized by the body over time,
• Some ingredients remain but gradually lose intensity, and
• Certain inorganic compounds stay extremely stable and can permanently shift the undertone—which is why old camouflage work can heal as ashy, gray, or even blue.

This year, I’ve made it my mission to deepen my understanding of pigment science—how ingredients break down, how they interact with each other in the dermis, and what environmental factors (like UV exposure, skin pH, or lymphatic activity) can accelerate color changes.

Knowledge of ink chemistry isn’t optional in paramedical tattooing—it’s essential. When you understand how pigments behave long-term, you can create results that age beautifully, not unpredictably.

Self harm scars after 4 sessions! While they might not be completely gone, they are much harder to detect which can give clients the confidence to wear the clothing and be in social situations that would otherwise be very uncomfortable. We aren't done with her journey. Stay tuned!

This client trusted me and stuck with the process. After four sessions, we achieved a beautiful camouflage. Before coming to me, she had seen someone else, and you can still see the old ink in her stretch marks. The match wasn’t great, and over time it aged to a yellow tone. I neutralized those yellow areas and gave her a much better color match. She’s thrilled with her results—and she’s truly become one of my favorite people to work with.

This is one of my former students who has been incredibly committed to the process—her words were, “as many sessions as it takes.” We’ve improved the texture of her stretch marks by at least 80%!

In her after photo, she’s still slightly red from the most recent treatment, but I couldn’t wait to share these amazing results. Today, we’re completing her fifth and final session. Stay tuned for her final outcome!

When I first started teaching, I made a commitment—to myself and to my students—that I would never stop learning, growing, and sharing what I discover as an artist. Part of that promise includes continuing to support my past graduates with new insights and techniques.

Lately, I’ve been diving deep into color neutralization for hypopigmented (white) scars using organic inks. In the past, I relied mostly on hybrid inks since they’re pre-mixed and make color matching simple. But creating custom tones from scratch and controlling the pigment components myself has led to more predictable results in fewer sessions for my clients.

I’ve also transitioned away from using magnum needles for scar work—and I’m excited to share my updated technique with you!

Class Details:
• If you’ve taken my in-person 3-day course, this class is free.
• If you’ve taken a Zoom Masterclass, you can join for $199.
• Want a mini kit with all the inks we’ll be working with? Add $75. 5 colors included.

Please DM me to RSVP, so I can make sure there’s plenty of food for lunch ❤️

Hi! I’m Meagan Chapman. I’ve been a paramedical tattoo artist for almost five years, and from the moment I started, I knew I wanted to be one of the best in the world. Every day, I get a little closer to that goal.

I tattoo because I love it — I love making a difference in my clients’ lives, and I love teaching my students. There’s nothing better than seeing that “aha” moment when everything finally clicks for them. I take my craft seriously and am always pushing myself to learn more, to take on the tough cases that others might shy away from.

I’m a girls’ girl, a mom, a daughter, and a best friend. What you see on my page is real. I don’t Photoshop, I don’t use trick lighting, and I definitely don’t use filters to make my work look better. What you see is what you get.

When you come to my clinic in Ogden, Utah, you’re stepping into my second home — a space I’ve poured my heart into, designed to make you feel comfortable and cared for. If you have scars or stretch marks and you’re looking for beautiful, natural results you can trust, I’m your girl.

People often think that tattoo ink changes color when diluted — but that’s not actually what’s happening. The color itself stays the same; what changes is the concentration of pigment. When you dilute tattoo ink, you’re not altering the ink’s hue, you’re just changing how many pigment particles are suspended in each drop of liquid. Less pigment means more light passes through the skin before bouncing back, which makes the color appear lighter or more transparent.

This principle is the same one that explains why watercolor looks softer when thinned or why smoke looks gray when dispersed. Understanding dilution on a particle level helps artists achieve smoother gradients, more realistic shading, and consistent healed results. It’s not about creating a “new” color — it’s about mastering control over pigment density and perception.

✨ 1 Year Facelift Scar Camouflage Update! ✨
Swipe to see the transformation — from a bright white scar to beautifully blended skin tone.

It’s been one year since I did this procedure, and she’s retained about 90% of the pigment, only needing a tiny touch-up! The results are exactly what she wanted — soft, seamless, and confidence-restoring 💫

The secret? 🎨 Color neutralization.
I balance all the ingredients in my tattoo inks to create a tone that truly harmonizes with your natural skin.

So many people shy away from paramedical tattooing because they’ve seen outdated results — but tattoo science and chemistry have come a long way. When done right, the results can be life-changing. ❤️

We did her tattoo yesterday and she already looks phenomenal! The best part about this is it was done during a Student Model Call. My students did this during their 3rd day of paramedical tattoo class.
