🥶 Cold plunges may be trending as a “nervous system reset,” but in traditional Chinese medicine, sudden cold is actually seen as a shock to the body, not a healer.

So, if your body already feels anxious, inflamed, or exhausted… the last thing it needs is more shock.

Let me explain.

☯️ In Chinese medicine, cold is considered contracting and draining. It forces the body to pull inward and slow down, which is the opposite of what we want when your system is already stuck in fight or flight.

Most women I see are not under stimulated. They are overstimulated.

They are running high cortisol, poor sleep, bloating, hormonal shifts, brain fog, inflammation, autoimmune flares, or burnout.

Adding more stress to an already stressed system does not create healing. It just keeps the body in survival mode.

The nervous system does not heal through shock. It heals through safety, warmth, circulation, and rhythm.

That is why acupuncture, frequency specific microcurrent, Chinese herbs, and even simple warm foods begin to restore regulation. They send the message your body has been waiting for. You are safe. You can exhale. You can heal.

If your body feels wired, tired, or stuck, book an appointment, and we’ll begin the process of restoring your nervous system safely and naturally.

🤔 Have you noticed your body feels more anxious, wired, inflamed, or restless lately even if nothing in your life has changed?

It is not just the season.

Your biological clock is being pulled out of rhythm right now.

The earlier darkness shifts your melatonin and cortisol which directly impacts your vagus nerve. When that rhythm gets disrupted your nervous system gets stuck in survival mode.

That is when symptoms spike.

👉 More jaw tension.
👉 More restless sleep.
👉 More gut bloating.
👉 More pain flares.
👉 More irritability.
👉More exhausted but wired nights.

This is not random.

Your body is simply reacting to a time and light shift that your nervous system has not yet adapted to.

This is also exactly what acupuncture and frequency specific microcurrent help regulate. They re-sync your internal clock calm the vagus nerve and move you out of survival mode and back into safety.

If your symptoms are louder right now and you are ready to regulate your nervous system instead of fighting it alone, send me a message to book an appointment.

Your body is asking to be supported not silenced.

Aromatase inhibitors are an important part of hormonal therapy for many women with breast cancer. Unfortunately, up to 50% of patients experience joint pain and stiffness that can become so severe they stop taking these life-saving medications.

A recent multi-center clinical trial found that acupuncture provided significant and lasting relief from this pain with benefits that continued for up to 44 weeks after completing treatment.

Acupuncture offers a safe, natural way to manage pain, improve mobility, and enhance quality of life for women navigating breast cancer recovery.

This randomized clinical trial of women with breast cancer assesses whether short-term acupuncture reduces long-term aromatase inhibitor–related joint pain compared with sham acupuncture or a waiting list control.

✨ During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I want to highlight the AcCliMaT study from Italy which demonstrated that acupuncture led to a sustained reduction in hot flashes. Women in the study experienced significant improvement in symptoms, along with better sleep, improved energy, and an overall sense of wellbeing. What’s most remarkable is that these benefits continued well after treatment ended.

This mirrors what I see in my own clinic.

Women with breast cancer often respond to acupuncture with fewer hot flashes, deeper rest, and renewed energy.

Breast cancer care should always be about more than survival. It should be about helping women feel vibrant, comfortable, and supported in every step of their journey. Acupuncture is a gentle and powerful way to make that possible.

I am honored to offer acupuncture services for the North Fork Breast Health Coalition, bringing these benefits directly to survivors in our community.

✨ Feeling so grateful today ✨

A big thank you to and Flying Point Media Group for featuring the North Fork Breast Health Coalition in this month’s issue. 💗

As someone who has been a part of this incredible organization for many years, I am constantly humbled by the strength, resilience, and love within our community.

The Coalition’s mission is more than support services, it’s about surrounding women and their families with hope, care, and a reminder that they are not alone on this journey.

It’s an honor to be part of a team that brings healing, compassion, and connection to the North Fork. And to see that work highlighted in a local publication that celebrates our community makes it even more special.

Together, we are North Fork Strong.

AirPods and Radiation: What You Need to Know

Recent research shows that wireless AirPods emit up to 150 times more radiation than traditional wired earphones, raising potential health concerns, especially for daily or heavy users.

While the levels are still below international safety limits, prolonged exposure to electromagnetic radiation near the head has prompted scientists to caution users about possible long-term effects. Wireless devices use Bluetooth signals to transmit data continuously, which accounts for the higher radiation levels compared to wired alternatives that have no wireless transmission.

Experts recommend moderation and safety precautions, such as limiting call duration, using speaker mode, switching to wired options when possible, and keeping devices away from the head when not in use. Parents and frequent users should be particularly aware, as prolonged exposure can accumulate over time.

This study emphasizes the importance of being informed about the technology we use daily. While wireless earphones are convenient, they may come with hidden risks that require simple behavioral changes to mitigate.

Staying aware and using devices responsibly can help reduce unnecessary exposure while still enjoying the benefits of modern technology. With small adjustments, users can protect their health without sacrificing convenience.
