For forty years, Greenwich Emergency Medical Service — known simply as GEMS — has been that promise in motion. Since 1986, we’ve responded to tens of thousands of calls—showing up in living rooms, on sidelines, in classrooms, on roadsides, and in those moments when minutes matter most.
In 2026, GEMS will mark our 40th anniversary with a year-long celebration—not focused on ourselves, but on the community we serve.
It all begins January 15, 2026, with community events leading up to our official anniversary on July 15. We invite all of Greenwich to join us in honoring our dedicated staff, our Board, our volunteers and partners, and the legacy of care that defines GEMS.
