Are you self-motivated? In 2008 it all changed.

Would you like and desire a career working with horses? Can you make a commitment to helping horses? Would you like a career that you feel like you are appreciated by the horse and horse owner? Consider a career in Natural Hoof Care. Natural hoof care providers are the rising stars of professional hoof care and there is a huge shortage of qualified practitioners
Make no mistake, it is not something that you can learn by going to a couple of clinics and investing in a few tools. Horses and your clients expect a lot out of the true professionals, and it takes years and 10,000’s of hooves to gain the knowledge to become a master of this trade. We have all heard the saying “no foot no horse” and it is absolutely the truth. But to attain those sound feet there is a mountain of knowledge about the whole horse you will be required to learn. For me, it is literally a lifelong commitment, passion and what I was put on earth to follow. I will never stop learning and I will never stop teaching those who want to learn. I have been involved with hoof care since 1986 started out being the horse handler and driving the farrier mad with questions. Nailed on my first shoe in 1986. Worked for and learned from top notch farriers. For many years to come horse shoeing was a side thing for myself, friends, and outfitters I worked for. I discovered natural hoof care. Natural hoof care was considered by most as just a fad that would fade away. But I encountered some lameness issues that nailed-on iron shoes could not fix. Natural hoof care opened a whole new world of hoof/horse care that really makes sense. What I am offering is an opportunity to live, breath and experience, not only hoof care but whole horse care. We have more than 300 horses in our care on a regular 6 week trimming schedule. From mini’s to drafts. From performance to yard ornaments. From solid soundness to extreme lameness. From dry environments to wet. From 3-month-old to 40-year-old horses. You will spend your days trimming and evenings in a classroom setting, reading, watching videos, looking over x-rays and lots of discussions. Maybe a hoof dissection if one is available. We will only be accepting either one student at a time or if you will be working with a partner as a team, we will accept two. This is a six-week program, and you will be living with us the whole time. No time for parties and socializing just focused hard work. When you are done it will be my hope that this will be just the beginning of your journey into hoof care but you will have a great foundation and the abilities to continue where ever you may go. I know that right here in the wide area we work in there is a huge shortage of qualified hoof care professionals. Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, and Idaho. Does not matter if you are female, male, straight or gay to me if you have a passion for helping horses and the commitment to follow through. Must be 18 or older and have your own health care insurance. The cost is the same for everyone. $3800 per person. 6 weeks long room and board included. Transportation for trimming provided (you will be riding with us). We are looking for a candidate in the Black Hills area of South Dakota this lucky candidate may have the opportunity to take over that area and get a kick start with 15 horses to start their career. Give me a call and make a change that will not only be profitable but could be the most gratifying career of your life. Text is ok also. #307 855 5979

Considerations on breakover: We adjust the breakover on the hoof wall to mimic what occurs naturally. In a natural state (barefoot), the hoof rolls off the ground surface. When we add anything to the bottom the hoof, we are essentially creating an extension of the hoof and a protective surface. Examining the shoe's design, is it intended for protection, providing a proper landing surface, enabling natural functionality, or does it require modifications for specific purposes or corrections?

How we spent our Easter, by Four Good Feet.
It was a very unconventional way but a very rewarding day. We helped 76 hoofs that were attached to 19 horses. Two mini's, two mini donkey's three ponies, two donkeys', two draft mix, and eight standard size horses. My family is not just humans it is also the equines we care for.
We can make your equines part of our family also.
PM us to join the best equine hoof care on the planet.
Thank you, Jan, Katie and Micheal, for being part of the Four Good Feet team.
